With the marriage experiment just full of surprises, who has already left Married at First Sight Australia 2023?
The flock of unlucky-in-love participants all entered the controversial series (kinda) single and hoped to turn their doozy love lives around.
Putting their fate in the producers‘ experts‘ hands, the cast’s journey from their vows to the finale is chock-full of drama, and we can’t help but lap it up.
But with scandals galore derailing their relationships left, right and centre, who has called it quits and left Married at First Sight Australia 2023 so far?
Harrison Boon and Bronte Schofield
Despite their pact to stay until Final Vows, Harrison Boon and Bronte Schofield finally put an end to their cursed relationship
At the Final Dinner Party, the beauty educator quit the experiment and walked away from the leader of the gaslighting committee. And TBH, her exit was a long time coming.
We’re surprised the father-of-one even wanted to stay on the show after being grilled by Kirra Schofield. Her harsh words had us shaking in our boots!
Jesse Burford and Claire Nomarhas
Jesse Burford and Claire Nomarhas had quite the journey on MAFS.
After cheating on Jesse and gaslighting him for WEEKS, Claire tried to make it up to her husband.
Despite spending a few great weeks together, the trust was too far gone for Jesse and the pair decided to leave the experiment.
Hugo Armstrong and Tayla Winter
Hugo Armstrong and Tayla Winter called off their relationship after the 27-year-old nurse made an emotional speech that was left on the cutting room floor.
These two didn’t even make it to the Commitment Ceremony, as they amicably decided to leave after the Dinner Party on March 8.
The mismatched pair were doomed from the start, and judging by the rumours that the bride was hooking up with Cameron Woods whilst filming, we’re happy that Hugo was put out of his misery.
Dan Hunjas and Sandy Jawanda
In the wise words of Tyra Banks: “We were all rooting for you!”
While Dan Hunjas and Sandy Jawanda‘s wedding hinted that they might be the next MAFS golden couple, things quickly took a turn for the worst.
As the experiment progressed, the couple’s incompatibilities became evident — as did Dan’s bizarre need to be close to the ocean at all times.
As such, Dan and Sandy packed their bags and waved buh-bye, and viewers let out a long sigh of relief.
Adam Seed and Janelle Han
After Adam Seed‘s cheating scandal with Claire Nomarhas imploded the experiment, there was very little he could do to salvage his marriage to Janelle Han.
Oh, and his FOURTH stint on reality TV.
After weeks of gaslighting and manipulation on the groom’s behalf, the couple’s rollercoaster relationship came to an abrupt end.
Josh White and Melissa Sheppard
What happens when you pair a self-confessed “freak in the sheets” with a quiet, Disney-loving dad?
Reality TV gold, according to producers, who really took Josh White and Melissa Sheppard for one big ol’ ride during MAFS 2023.
The pair bared all during their final Commitment Ceremony together, where Josh expressed his wife was constantly “degrading and dehumanising” him for being more conservative than her.
When it came to choosing whether to continue in the experiment, Josh was permitted to leave, despite Melissa opting to stay, all thanks to a secret contract deal.
Shannon Adams and Caitlin McConville
After the WORST Intimacy Week we’ve seen by far, Caitlin McConville exposed Shannon Adams for his hurtful commentary during the experiment.
From confessing he was still in love with his ex to blaming it on Caitlin for not being attractive enough for him, there was very little room for Shannon to improve his behaviour.
With the groom’s behaviour slammed as “really disgusting”, it baffled fans that he still opted to stay on the show.
However, Caitlin took a stand for herself, choosing to leave anyway as she “deserves to be respected”.
Which couples made it to Final Vows?
Surprisingly, five couples made it all the way to Final Vows, which is way more than we expected. However, not all of these couples made it out alive.
First up were Alyssa Barmonde and Duncan James. Whilst the mother-of-one was ready to commit, Duncan dumped his wife because he was quite frankly done with her sh*t. And we’re so happy he did, because he deserved better!
The next couple was Melinda Willis and Layton Mills. Despite going through their fair share of drama, the adorable pair decided to stay together!
Then, in one of the most ICONIC Final Vows in MAFS history, Lyndall Grace brutally dumped Cameron Woods. And to top it all off, she told him she didn’t want to hear his vows.
Sweethearts Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton were next up, and of course, they stayed together. No surprises there.
Finally, Evelyn Ellis dumped Rupert Bugden. And TBH, we’re surprised they even made it to Final Vows.
