Married at First Sight Australia 2023 fans breathed a collective sigh of relief when Duncan James brutally dumped his on-screen wife Alyssa Barmonde during their Final Vows.
During the March 26 episode, the toxic relationship between the pair came to a grinding halt as the cyber security salesman FINALLY stood up to the mother-of-one. And fans loved it.
Before the epic dumping, the 35-year-old executive assistant expressed that she was willing to give their relationship a go.
Despite worrying that the 36-year-old’s “logical brain [would] continue to clash with [her] emotional heart,” she was willing to “fight” for their relationship.
Now, this all sounds very romantic however, all hell broke loose when Alyssa confidently said: “Duncan, I want to help you… dig into that big heart of yours and feel what my soul is feeling for you.” Yes, she really went there.
And to say fans went WILD is an understatement.
Like the true gentleman he is, Duncan replied “thank you for your words,” before giving Alyssa the awkward type of hug that you’d give your distant relatives at a funeral.
And TBH, we’re surprised he was able to keep it together after receiving that massive burn…
Married at First Sight’s Duncan shocks Alyssa with his BRUTAL vows
When it came time for Duncan’s vows, the groom took a more savage approach.
“Alyssa, I came into this experiment to find the love of my life, I dreamed of finding my forever person,” he started.
At this point, Alyssa looked a little TOO hopeful.
Duncan’s tone changed, as he continued: “Mixed with all the good times were some really low lows.” Then, to nobody’s surprise except Alyssa’s, he proceeded to DUMP his on-screen wife for good.
He told her that he tried his hardest time and time again, but “the gap [seemed] too big to bridge and ultimately, [he had] to say goodbye.”
“F*ck…was not expecting that,” Alyssa muttered tearfully.
Girl, we hate to tell you this…but we could see that one coming from a mile away.
Well, it seems like dreamboat Duncan is now on the market! We hope he finally finds the woman of his dreams because he’s a true gentleman.

To top off the momentous occasion, Duncan kindly offered Alyssa a tissue just moments after brutally dumping her. And fans found this hilarious.
Then, after rejecting his tissue, Alyssa told the producers that Duncan was looking for a princess, before declaring: “But I’m not a princess. I’m a queen.”
Alyssa then proceeded to dramatically run off into the forest, and we don’t know if she ever returned home. But we hope she did because she has a child!
