Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Janelle Han has defended co-star Alyssa Barmonde after fans branded her “hypocritical” for calling out Adam Seed and Claire Nomarhas‘ cheating scandal.
Alyssa went to TOWN during the February 22 Dinner Party, holding the slimy pair to account for kissing behind Janelle and Jesse Burford‘s backs.
However, fans found it a bit twisted for the mum-of-one to be so passionate about calling them out when she recently admitted to previously being involved in a six-month affair.
Now, Janelle has hit back at critics, condemning them for attacking her pal when they “don’t know the full story”.
“Watching the show and checking Twitter and scrolling through the live Reddit thread as I always do for every episode, my heart was absolutely breaking for Alyssa because she was receiving a lot of hate,” she told Yahoo! Lifestyle.
“She was being called a hypocrite, but a lot of people don’t know the full story.”
Janelle continued: “She was in a manipulative relationship and it really affected her and that’s why she was so passionate about cheating because she knows how much it can damage a family.”
Noting it’s “not [her] story to tell”, the influencer said it’s a “really sad” situation that Alyssa “feels very passionate about”.
“There’s so much to the story than her just being the other woman.”

A source close to Alyssa told So Dramatic! on February 23, that the TV bride’s contentious relationship occurred “over a decade ago” when the Sydneysider was only 23 years old.
“The relationship started at work before the man was married. He was her boss,” they said.
“She started seeing him at the local gym and he invited her to [get] help with her training.”
Several weeks later, she noticed the man “suddenly wore a wedding ring”. However, when the MAFS bride questioned him, he claimed to have tied the knot “to help his ‘wife’ obtain a visa and that it was not a real marriage”.
“She naively believed him because they’d been spending almost every hour of the day together,” the insider added.
After seeing a therapist while on stress leave, Alyssa soon realised she was “being deeply manipulated by a man in power”.
After six months together, she “confronted him” and left the relationship.
