Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Janelle Han has been busted doing sponsored influencer deals on Instagram despite producers’ warnings.

We may only be halfway through the infamous marriage experiment, but the participants are keen on making that cash money — something showrunners have warned them against while the show is still airing.

However, eagled-eyed MAFS fans clocked Janelle on a sponsored Instagram post, taking to So Dramatic!‘s Communi-TEA Facebook group to question if it was really her.

“Is this our first MAFS 2023 alum ‘influencer’ IG ad?” one fan penned. “I could be wrong but is that Janelle?”

Yep, it sure is!

In the clip, the 28-year-old spruiked sought-after light for content creators by tech brand BigSofti.

Janelle even took to the comment section to confirm it was her, however, confessed she never approved the post.

“Thanks for the heads up! I didn’t give usage rights for this… BRB calling my manager!” she wrote.

She then went on to say she “recommend[s] the NEEWER selfie lights instead” rather than BigSofti’s product.

But how does that even happen?

Given that Janelle is already a VERIFIED influencer, perhaps she spoke about the product on her own Story, which was then screen-recorded and shared to the brand’s account without permission.

Are there contract loopholes for Married at First Sight participants?

Had the BigSofti post been approved, it being shared on a brand page rather than Janelle’s personal account could mean the post bypasses contract conditions prohibiting content creation while the show is airing.

We mean, this is kind of a genius loophole for MAFS stars to still rake in money while not having access to their accounts… Look away, Channel Nine!

We already know that the Married at First Sight contracts are a little flexible, given Dan Hunjas AND Josh White had personalised deals with the network.

Josh was allowed to travel to see his family while in the throws of a messy divorce. Meanwhile, Dan “negotiated” a sweet deal after being scouted for the series.

The more you know, hey!
