Surprise, surprise: Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s problematic duo Bronte Schofield and Harrison Boon had a secret pact to stay on the show until Final Vows.

As revealed in episode 269 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the beauty educator agreed to stick it out until Final Vows because she was pressured by both producers and her on-screen hubby.

The 28-year-old was allegedly told to stay on the show so that she could end things as ‘friends’ with the 32-year-old builder.

Supposedly, this pact would also help the resident gaslighter repair his image. But TBH, no amount of damage control could repair the trail of destruction he’s caused this season.

According to our insiders, Bronte had initially agreed to this pact when things were going well between the pair. Producers also allegedly got into her head and also convinced her that Harrison liked her deep down.

However, Bronte changed her mind at Home Stays during THAT now infamous winery scene.

When Harrison thanked Bronte for “playing her part”, she realised he was using her and decided to end it for real. Yassss! FINALLY! And good riddance!

Harrison tried to convince Bronte to stay until Final Vows

A source dished to So Dramatic! that “Harrison was adamant that they were going to Final Vows.”

“He said to Bronte, ‘we have to go. We had a pact.'”

However, Bronte denied ever having a pact with Harrison.

“Bronte was like, ‘no we didn’t. I didn’t sign up for a fake marriage. I didn’t come here for a pact. I’m not being inauthentic,'” the source dished. And YES girl! This is the side of you we wish we saw more of during the show.

The source then spilled that Harrison “begged” Bronte to stay as he wanted to “redeem his image“, but she knew he only wanted to stay longer so that “he could blame her for it nor working and saying she doesn’t want to move to Sydney.”

According to the source, Bronte said producers had “already made her stay on the show longer than she wanted to, against the detriment of her mental health,” and she’d already mentally checked out two weeks earlier.

Don’t they have a duty of care on this show? We’re glad she was able to finally escape this man!
