An insider has dished the real reason Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Bronte Schofield decided to stay with Harrison Boon yet another week.
ICYMI: Everyone was shook when the 28-year-old opted to stay in the experiment after Harrison dumped her via text following the Couples’ Retreat, with sources revealing producers heavily manipulated her into continuing on the show.
Now, as reported in episode 269 of the So Dramatic! podcast, similar tactics were implemented by production to coerce Bronte into writing “stay” at the March 19 Commitment Ceremony.
According to one spy, Bronte had a “huge panic attack” and was “hysterical, tearing Skye Suites apart”.
“Producers got her to write ‘stay’ at the final Commitment Ceremony because they were saying to her, ‘Just one more day and you get to go home to visit your family’,” they explained.
“Bronte had been begging to go home so she felt like this was her chance to get out. They wouldn’t let her leave anyway.”

To placate the bride, MAFS‘ “big execs” reportedly “bribed her” with the promise of early leave to visit her nan, who was in the hospital at the time. Her aunt had also been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“They told her they would let her go home two days earlier and then Harrison would meet her over there,” the source added.
What’s more, is that they used Bronte’s sister, Kirra, to manipulate her further.
“They used her sister as an emotional heartstring, saying, ‘Don’t you want your sister to have a go at [Harrison]? He deserves it. Don’t let him off that easy.’
“Producers told her they would also have separate accommodations in Perth: Bronte would stay in her apartment, Harrison would stay in the city.”
Producers have only doubled on Bronte staying in the experiment after So Dramatic! revealed she was “worn down by them for almost 12 hours” the previous week.
“It got to the point where she just wrote stay to shut them up and get out of there,” a source said. “Because she knew they weren’t going to let her leave until she did.”
