Layton Mills‘ true intentions for going on Married at First Sight Australia 2023 have been exposed by his cousin and hint: it wasn’t for love.
Yep, the TV groom’s very own family literally threw him under the bus and spilled the tea in a MAFS fan page on Facebook in January.
As revealed in episode 265 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Debbie shared in the group that her cousin was going on the show, before revealing why he really signed up.
“We are a very close family and he is very family oriented,” she dished. “He is using this platform to be seen and known, I’m not going to BS about that [sic].” LOL!
What else did MAFS’ Layton’s cousin say about him?
She went on to say that she wishes producers would choose people who genuinely have trouble finding love.
“Let me say this, I wish this show would truly pick Aussies that do find it hard to meet ppl or are afraid to get out there again because of a breakup, instead of those using this show as a stepping stone for fame [sic],” Debbie wrote.
“Unfortunately, I do believe my cousin is not in it for this reason.” OUCH! Seriously, who needs enemies when you’ve got family like Debbie?!
However, Debbie did throw a few compliments in about her cousin as well.
“If he comes across a villain they are directing it,” she said. “I hope he is nice to ppl he is a funny bugger [sic].
“I hope they show his true personality and he enjoys the experience because he is a decent hard-working person.” Awww, good to know!
Debbie’s scathing comments come after Layton was exposed for being a serial reality TV star before tying the knot to his on-screen wife Melinda Willis.
He starred on First Dates Australia in 2016 and Wipeout Australia in 2009.
