Married at First Sight Australia 2023 fans have slammed Dan Hunjas for using his bizarre ocean obsession as an excuse for writing “leave” at the Commitment Ceremony.
During the March 5 episode, the beach-loving groom and fan fave Sandy Jawanda both decided to leave the experiment, following a turbulent week of butt dials and marathon-length runs.
But trying (and failing) to crawl away with a semblance of ‘good guy‘ status, Dan claimed that his main reason for leaving the experiment was their lack of shared interests.
More specifically, Sandy just wasn’t keen on going to the beach. TOTAL deal breaker…
You know, because she was more concerned about her TV husband suddenly disappearing for hours and his constant flip-flopping about whether he was “sexually attracted” to her.
“I wake up every morning. I’m at the beach before sunrise. It’s those spiritual moments that I just wanted somebody to share that with,” Dan monologued to the experts.

He continued: “That has weighed very heavy on my heart because that is a true love of mine. So my heart and my mind have been at conflict because that was one of the big things for me, to have somebody I could share that with.”
“Then go to the ocean with your mates?” Melinda Willis pointed out. LOL, problem solved!

The experts actually pulled out a win, for once, as John Aiken reminded Dan that “a key ingredient to a healthy relationship is not the love of an ocean,” and Dan was SHOOK!
“You may not be on the same page about water, but there are a lot more important ingredients to a healthy relationship,” he said.
Alessandra Rampolla also interrogated Dan on how he miraculously wanted to have sex with Sandy less than 24 hours after he had told them at last week’s Commitment Ceremony that he wasn’t “sexually attracted” to her.
Sandy pointed out that Dan was using “lifestyle” as an excuse because she didn’t match the “type” he was expecting.
MAFS fans agreed that his “love for the ocean” may have more to do with his multiple “secret girlfriends” who just so happen to live on the Gold Coast.
After revealing that he chose to leave, Dan said: “The beach and the ocean is calling me, I have to go home.”
NGL, we were seriously questioning whether Dan had been watching one too many H2O: Just Add Water episodes and had secretly hoped Sandy would be willing to play mermaids with him in the Skye Suites pool.
