Married at First Sight Sight Australia 2023‘s Dan Hunjas tried to take a page from Harrison Boon’s gaslighting textbook by telling Sandy Jawanda they were “incompatible” after having sex with her.
During the Febuary 27 episode, the 42-year-old groom went on a mind-boggling six-hour run immediately after sleeping with his TV wife, leaving Sandy completely in the dark about their relationship status.
The fan-favourite bride teared up as she explained that Dan had known she wasn’t able to separate sex from emotional attachment before admitting her fear that he’s suddenly changed his mind.
Unfortunately, her fears were justified, as Dan returned from his (apparently marathon-length) “run” more than six hours later without a sliver of empathy.
“I feel like we’ve slept together and after that, he’s treated me like I don’t exist,” Sandy said.
After Sandy confronted him about where he’d been, Dan claimed she was trying to pick a fight and raising her voice.
Fans questioned whether any of the numerous gaslighting grooms even realised that their conversations were being recorded because Sandy had clearly remained calm and collected.
Having already sat through an ungodly amount of gaslighting from the 2023 grooms, MAFS fans weren’t having a bar on Dan’s amateur hour attempt.
As Sandy’s sister perfectly described it, “he talks a lot, but he doesn’t say very much”.

After displaying “casual racism” at their wedding, Dan’s friend Georgia once again put herself on Married at First Sight fans’ collective sh*t list.
She took her friend onto the balcony for a “chat” after Dan repeatedly claimed that he was “incompatible” with his Sandy.
The duo critiqued Sandy for not being a “whole human“.
“The fact that Sandy is allergic to ocean water and can’t go in it. That gives me anxiety. You know, what kind of life is that,” Dan said.
Uhm, dunno; a life where she prefers sitting on the sand? It’s just not that deep…
Apparently, having allergies, not being interested in adventure activities or wanting to go on ridiculous six-hour “runs” didn’t compute to the painfully ‘Gold Coast’ friends.
Fans suspected that if the Indian-Punjabi bride had been “white”, Georgia would have encouraged Dan to try harder. You know, rather than whatever the f*ck that speech was about “wholeness”.
