Married at First Sight Australia 2023 groom Dan Hunjas‘ IRL relationship with wedding guest Samantha Symes has been outed as a fake romance.
We all thought Dan and his TV wife Sandy Jawanda could be the marriage experiment’s next golden couple, but that was all blown to bits when pap pics emerged of the not-so-single dad getting jiggy with one of his wedding guests.
The pair have been seen loved up on multiple occasions. However, episode 257 of the So Dramatic! podcast exposed Dan and Samantha’s fauxmance for what it really is.
Multiple sources told host Megan Pustetto that the duo is putting it all on for the cameras and uh, no sh*t!
“Dan and Samantha have been friends for years. They aren’t dating at all,” one insider confessed.
“Dan wanted everyone to know he was single and not with Sandy and get some publicity whilst he’s on the show as he knows there’s a short window of time to get exposure.”

Apparently, a reporter from another media outlet “told him he should start dating someone else” because it will generate a lot of attention”.
To get Samantha on board, Dan “sold it to her as a chance to increase her profile”.
“He told her she would get heaps of publicity and opportunities,” a source said. “In fact, she wanted the attention as much as he did.”
The reporter was reportedly “elated” when they learned Dan had recruited one of his wedding guests to be his fake bae “as he knew it would be an even better story”.
“They had all the photos in the bag ready to go before the wedding even aired, it’s just so fake.”

What’s more, is that Dan and Samantha were “paid a set amount” to be photographed by paparazzi to sell the romance.
“[They] posed for a number of different sets of photos on the same day,” it was revealed. “They changed outfits and locations multiple times to make it look different.” Seems like a sh*t-ton of effort but each to their own…
“They did some beach shots, and some walking around shots, all looking loved up,” an insider said.
“The [reporter] has been seeding the photos out gradually to make it look like they’re a couple and meeting up every day when really it’s the same day. It’s all staged and they’re just friends.
“They have done more photos since, but it’s all Dan tipping off the paps and making money from it. And Samantha’s just along for the ride!”
Like, bless them for trying, but Dan, we’re onto you!
