Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Dan Hunjas‘ wedding guest-turned-new girlfriend Samantha Symes, has started a GoFundMe after suffering “financial loss” from having her “car and items” stolen.
As revealed in episode 257 of the So Dramatic! Podcast, an insider explained that the aspiring influencer recently created the charity page to buy herself a new car.
“It was weird because she doesn’t portray herself on social media as someone who has no money, so you’d assume her new entrepreneur boyfriend would help her with a loan,” they dished.
And um, sorry but women don’t need to rely on men to get that bread! Just saying…
What was posted on Samantha Symes’ GoFundMe page?
The mum-of-two revealed in the post that her BMW was stolen from a shopping centre and that the thieves got away with her son’s iPad, as well as the contents of her handbag which contained her EarPods, Apple Watch and wallet.
Samantha also said that the “juveniles” continued to post videos of themselves “thrashing” her car and “smoking drugs” which they shared to Snapchat. Capturing evidence of their own crime? It sounds like the pair were asking to get caught!
According to the Gold Coast beauty, two helicopters and six police cars arrived at the scene and her car was “completely written off.”
“My insurance is for market value and now I am left in debt with no car, had to pay $800 excess and get a rental car,” Samantha wrote. “All my belongings in the car are valued at around 3k and insurance will only cover $500.
Trying to piece back my losses is proving to be exponentially hard, all whilst they are on bail and at no loss. My family are without and I am out of pocket and will continue to be for quite some time.”
She concluded: “Moving forward my main prioritise [sic] are to try [to] pay out the remaining loan and focus on
having transport so [I] can get to work (to continue to be able to pay rent etc) and take kids to school/daycare etc.”
Samantha said that she would be out of pocket for “quite some time” and set a target of $5000 to cover all of her expenses.
Unfortunately, only $980 of her $5ooo target had been reached at the time of publishing.
Hopefully, the publicity she’s been getting for her ‘romance’ with Dan will give her a bit of a boost!
