Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Claire Nomarhas and Adam Seed reportedly lied to Jesse Burford moments after their scandalous pub pash.
The duo’s cheating scandal was the talk of the experiment early on in the piece, with drama reaching new heights after the culprits gaslit Jesse and their co-stars into thinking nothing went down between them, only for Claire to confess to the kiss weeks down the track.
While fans watched the pair continually lie about the rendezvous, Jesse has since admitted the fibs started immediately after Claire and Adam locked lips.
Revealing all in episode 271 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the marriage celebrant told host Megan Pustetto that the pair did little to hide their smugness.
“There’s footage of Claire on MAFS saying, ‘When I kissed [Adam], I instantly regretted it’,” he recalled. “I’m like, ‘No, you fricken didn’t’, because when they walked back up the stairs, you should have seen that they had the biggest smiles on their face.
“They were saying something about, ‘Oh my God, we got locked out, we tried to come back and security wouldn’t let us back in’. It was just telling some story.
“They were laughing, they were happy and I was like, ‘That is so fricken dodgy… Something is up here, man’.”
Jesse Burford recalls Claire Nomarhas and Adam Seed’s ‘instant attraction’
Jesse admitted he wouldn’t have thought much of Claire and Adam’s interaction had he not noticed their “instant attraction” in the pub.
“Before Adam walked in, the girls were talking about [the boys] and they get up a photo of Adam, and Claire’s reaction was, ‘He’s got a rig!'” he remembered.
“Then Adam walks into the pub… and the first thing out of Claire’s mouth was, ‘I just saw a photo of you, damn, you look good’. Words to that effect.”
The musician said that was his “first taste” of realising that “Claire only wants to be in a relationship on camera” — which MAFS insiders recently dished was part of a “pact” she made with Bronte Schofield.
As the night wore on, Jesse “sensed” the spark between Adam and Claire growing.
“You can literally feel it emanating from them,” he said. “They just were two people who got along really well and there was a lot of smiles, a lot of laughter, a lot of touching of the arms and the shoulder and leaning into each other.”

In February, fans were sceptical when Adam claimed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that Claire instigated their pub pash.
However, it seems Jesse has a little more insight into his fellow groom’s claims after having “had chats [with] Adam” since the show wrapped up.
“The story I hear is that he was more a passenger [in the scandal], and Claire was definitely driving the car.” Umm, SPICY!
Jesse also debunked Claire’s claims that she felt “pressure” from Adam to keep the kiss hush-hush.
“That is what has been exaggerated,” he said, further confirming that the scene in which Claire “came clean” about the incident to Sandy Jawanda was staged by production.
This is off the back of some piping hot tea from insiders that revealed Claire got a very “soft” edit due to her friendship with one of MAFS‘ producers.
