Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Jesse Burford has weighed in on rumours that wife Claire Nomarhas had a pact with Bronte Schofield to stay on the show for redemption.

If there’s anyone who has left MAFS with a glowing edit, it’s Claire, who successfully ended the show on good terms with the audience despite her cheating scandal with Adam Seed.

While she appeared to patch things up with Jesse after the faux pas, one insider told So Dramatic! that she’d hatched a plan with Bronte to keep things going with her TV husband until her good gal image was redeemed.

Now, in episode 271 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Jesse has confirmed that Claire wasn’t honest about her attraction to Jesse in the latter half of the season.

“There were rumours that she had told Bronte, ‘I don’t care one bit about Jesse. I’m only here to save myself’,” he explained.

“I love that word, ‘calculated’, because I think that it’s very, very applicable [to how Claire conducted herself].”

The claims emerged during the couple’s final Dinner Party, during which Harrison Boon dished Claire confided in Bronte her plans for the rest of the experiment.

What did Married at First Sight insiders say about Claire Nomarhas’ ‘redemption’ pact?

Sources revealed in episode 270 of the So Dramatic! podcast that Claire AND Bronte made a pact “to stay on the show for exposure”.

“Bronte and Claire went to Manly together as they were both hating their partners,” one explained.

“They came back after making a pact… then instantly both turned it around with their partners the very next day.”

This was reportedly common knowledge among the cast, with Bronte telling “some of the other brides” about the plan.

“She was very open about it,” an insider confirmed. “Claire also told the other brides a lot of nasty stuff about Jesse but it’s all been cut.

“She’s got a very good edit.”

This is also despite the derogatory comments she allegedly made to Jesse, which would have gotten her “cancelled” had they made it to air.

Apparently, there’s one very good reason Claire’s “soft” edit is watered down compared to what occurred IRL.

“Claire boasted to other contestants about knowing one of the producers. She wasn’t trying to hide it,” one source explained.

The experts were all told by producers to go easy on her with their line of questioning.”
