Intruder bride Tayla Winter has claimed that she received a ‘villain’ edit and was ‘manipulated’ by producers on Married at First Sight Australia 2023.

Despite making a number of brutal comments to her husband Hugo Armstrong, the 27-year-old nurse has claimed that she was badly edited on the show.

The couple’s rocky relationship finally came to an end during the explosive Dinner Party on March 8, when Tayla ‘quit’ the experiment to return home to Tasmania.

However, the TV bride made a surprise return to tell Hugo she was prepared to give their relationship another go. Except, Hugo wasn’t interested in entertaining any kind of rekindling…

Now Tayla has spoken about her exit from the show and dropped a huge bombshell about her portrayal.

“I’ve definitely been given the villain edit,” she told Hit100.9’s Dan & Christie.

‘”They didn’t really have a female villain this year and I had to slide into that role a little bit.

“I don’t think it’s a true representation of myself and it’s not reflecting who I am, but it is what it is. The people who know me know me.”

Tayla went on to reveal to hosts Dan Taylor and Christie Hayes that she was taken advantage of by producers and went into the experiment “extremely naive.”

“I was taken full advantage of over there, they manipulated me quite a lot,” she said.

“Even last night, they edited my audio so much to make it sound like I wanted to stay. I never wanted to return from Tassie but I had to.”

Tayla may be referring to a major scene that was cut from the March 8 Dinner Party, where she read out an emotional letter to her cast members.

A source told So Dramatic! that Tayla showed a “more vulnerable side” that “was in complete contrast” to the Tayla they’d seen all season.

According to the insider, the scene was cut as it “didn’t fit with Tayla’s ‘villain’ character on the show.”

Poor Tayla! It really sounds like the producers stitched her up big time!
