Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Melissa Sheppard has issued a very public apology to her TV husband, Josh White, following their hectic AF journey on the show.

The self-proclaimed “freak in the sheets” and her Disney-loving bae were so obviously mismatched, with the mum-of-one frequently voicing her concerns that Josh couldn’t service her sexual needs.

The 41-year-old was raked over the coals by fans for her treatment of her partner and has now taken to social media to mend what was once broken.

Sharing snaps on Instagram from their time in the experiment, Melissa said she was “sorry” her words were “hurtful or damaging”.

“That was never my intention to hurt you in any way, shape or form,” she penned.

“I went in this #MAFS experiment hoping to find our perfect matches and as we didn’t find our forever after, wanted to let you know I hope when you’re ready you will find love and find what it is that you need out of a future relationship.

“And I wish you nothing but the BEST for your future.”

Melissa added they they “both need this” in order to “put this chapter behind [them]”.

“As we leave the experiment we remember the good times and laughs we had together,” she continued. “Take care and hope to smile with you one day when we both have healed.

“Take care Josh.”

Melissa Sheppard’s apology is IDENTICAL to a message she privately sent Josh White

While Melissa’s apology may be fresh to some fans, it’s almost identical to one she privately messaged Josh.

In the conversation obtained by So Dramatic!Melissa reached out to Josh at 5:30 am on September 15, 2022, after their final Commitment Ceremony was filmed.

Several months later — when the show was airing — Josh replied.

“Hey, I’m sorry. It’s taken so long to write to you since [filming] the reunion. I was going to before the wedding [aired], but I was dealing with some issues that now seem pretty obvious,” he wrote on February 10.

“I’m worried about you and what you must be going through. I’ve reached out to Channel Nine to ask to post a video on my Insta page addressing no bullying. This is not on.”

Some days later, Josh shared a clip on social media in which he begged fans to stop trolling Melissa online.
