It’s been almost a decade since The Bachelor Australia first hit our screens. During that time, we’ve closely followed the journeys of the show’s many leading men.
We’ve had quite the mixed bag of men front the hit series from real estate agents to professional sportsmen and even returning reality TV stars.
While some have shunned the spotlight, others have leveraged their new-found fame to land lucrative sponsorship deals and even more reality TV stints.
Ahead of the premiere of The Bachelors Australia 2023, we’re taking a look back on all the suitors who have graced our screens and what their lives look like since handing out their final roses.
Tim Robards, Season One, 2013
Season one of The Bachelor in 2013 saw handsome chiropractor Tim Robards give criminal lawyer Anna Heinrich his final rose back.
Fast forward to 2022, and Tim and Anna are still our ultimate #CoupleGoals.
The pair tied the knot in 2018 and went on to welcome a gorgeous daughter named Elle in November 2020.
The couple’s post-Bachelor career quickly took off, with the pair heading to the jungle as intruders for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015.
Tim also made appearances on Dancing With The Stars and Australian Ninja Warrior, before landing the role of Pierce Greyson on Neighbours from 2018 to 2020, and returned for guest stints on the show in 2021 and 2022.
The fitness expert also published a nutrition and workout book called The 7:2:1 Plan in 2017.
More recently, the couple purchased a new home in Sydney’s Dover Heights for a cool $5.8 million.
Blake Garvey, Season Two, 2014
Real estate agent Blake Garvey found himself in the firing line of the Australian public after his now-infamous appearance on the show in 2014.
Blake famously proposed to winner Sam Frost in the season finale, only to dump her for runner-up Louise Pillidge days later. The move earned him the title of the “most hated man in Australia”.
Unsurprisingly, when the controversial pair’s romance fizzled after 18 “suffocating” months, “love rat” Blake seemed to vanish from the spotlight altogether.
Following the split, Blake was rumoured to be dating Tania Mondon for two years, though it’s not confirmed whether they’re still together or not.
Meanwhile, it looks like Blake is still in the real estate game, as he’s currently listed as a sales rep for Homebuyers Centre in WA.
Sam Wood, Season Three, 2015
Faith in the Bachelor franchise was restored with the arrival of hunky personal trainer, Sam Wood in 2015.
Since their fairytale ending, Sam and his final pick, Snezana Markoski, have gone from strength to strength.
In 2018, the love birds tied the knot in a stunning Byron Bay ceremony, officially making Sam a stepdad to Snezana’s daughter Eve.
The pair have since welcomed THREE more daughters, Willow Wendy Wood, Charlie Lane Wood, and Harper Jones Wood. Talk about being outnumbered, Sam!
Family isn’t the only thing Sam has been focusing on, with the entrepreneur selling 28 by Sam Wood in May 2022 for a $71 million. Not bad for a former Bachelor!
The fitness guru has also been busy amassing an impressive property portfolio which includes a stunning beachy locale of Mt Martha, along with properties in Carnegie, Broadford and Upwey.
Sam and Senzana also purchased their $3.3 million Elsternwick home in 2018, where they currently reside with their four children.
Richie Strahan, Season Four, 2016
In the season that gave a whole new meaning to “chocolate bath“, Richie Strahan seemingly found love with Alex Nation.
Alas, it wasn’t meant to be, with the couple calling it quits in 2017. The pair famously came face-to-face on Bachelor In Paradise in 2018, where Alex slammed the rope technician for not “being there” for her.
Richie went on to have a brief fling with BIP co-star Cassandra Wood, before debuting his relationship with Janayah Thompson in October 2019.
The former Bachelor hasn’t shared any pics with his Janayah since 2020 so it’s unclear whether they are still together.
Richie has also busy working on personal projects, including completing renovations on a home he purchased in Perth “after the GFC”.
Matty Johnson, Season Five, 2017
After having his heart crushed by Georgia Love on The Bachelorette, fans were overjoyed when Matty Johnson finally found love with her lookalike Laura Byrne during the 2017 season.
In 2019, the couple welcomed adorable bub Marlie-Mae, with their second daughter, Lola Ellis, arriving in February 2021.
The pair wed in 2022 in an intimate ceremony surrounded by family and friends at Cupitt’s Estate near Mollymook, NSW.
Matty J has also been working hard building his media career, with his work on The Living Room seeing him nominated for a TV Week Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent.
He also hosted Luxury Escapes, as well as the radio show, Matt, Sarah & Matty J, before it was canned in 2020.
The loveable reality star also sashayed his way back onto the small screen in Dancing With The Stars All-Stars in 2021.
In January 2022, he also filled in for Studio 10’s Tristan MacManus and is currently Weekend Today’s weatherman!
Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins, Season Six, 2018
Nick Cummins royally p*ssed off the nation when he famously decided not to choose Brittany Hockley or Sophie Tieman in the jaw-dropping Bachelor 2018 finale.
Amid intense media scrutiny following the decision, Nick even had to flee the country and waited out the backlash by hiking the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.
Five years on and the footy star is now a dad to Billy George Cummins who he shares with fiancée Alexandra George who he got popped the question to in April 2022.
Despite expressing his disdain for reality TV, Nick later went on to star on SAS Australia in 2020 and even landed his own travel show Off the Grid with Badger. In 2022, he found himself in hot water after starring in a Hong Kong tourism campaign.
Matt Agnew, Season Seven, 2019
Fans had high hopes for Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod after the chemical engineer won the astrophysicist’s heart in 2019.
But after six months of dating, the pair revealed that they’d sadly ended their relationship.
According to the former couple, the spark just didn’t translate from filming to the real world as they’d hoped.
Following the split, fans speculated that The Bachelor Australia star was dating comedian Gen Fricker, though neither confirmed the rumours.
He was also rumoured to have reunited with runner-up Abbie Chatfield.
These days, Matt looks to be on the hunt for a new bae after being spotted on a slew of dating apps.
He also released his first book, Dr Matt’s Guide to Life in Space, in December 2022.
Locky Gilbert, Season Eight, 2020
Locky Gilbert also famously found love during his season of The Bachelor Australia with nurse Irena Srbinovska.
Previously, Locky had already graced our TV screens in 2017 on Australian Survivor and All-Stars in 2020.
Since their season, the couple have travelled all around Australia and welcomed a puppy named Odin.
Oh, and in June 2022, they announced their engagement!
The outdoorsy pair also went on to star in The 4WD Adventure Show, where they caravanned around WA.
Locky also added to his reality TV repertoire when he appeared on SAS Australia in 2022.
“So I’m an egotistical fame w***e, I’ve done three TV shows,” Locky admitted on the series.
“This is my fourth TV show. Of course, fame and notoriety are what some people live for.”
At least he admits it, we guess?
Jimmy Nicholson, Season Nine, 2021
Season nine saw Jimmy Nicholson give Holly Kingston his final rose, and the pair are still going strong today.
In 2021, the pair moved in together after shelling out $1.42 million on a pad in North Bondi.
The couple went on to travel the world before Holly revealed on August 28 that Jimmy had popped the question in Italy.
The pair have gone hard on the spon-con since their reality TV debut, so we have no doubt they’ll have more than enough cash to fund their upcoming nuptials!
While their relationship looks picture-perfect, it’s no secret that the duo have also been embroiled in their fair share of scandals, including receiving backlash for their eyebrow-raising comments on OnlyFans stars in June 2022.
