Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Evelyn Ellis has clapped back at her co-stars for complaining about the way they were portrayed on the show.

Whilst many of her cast mates have copped bad edits, the marketing manager said that what fans saw on TV was pretty accurate.

“For me, I know a lot of people talk about ‘the edit’ and how people are perceived, but I feel like [the show] captures the main essence of the feeling of the room,” the influencer dished during Yahoo’s All-Star MAFS Reunion.

“I wasn’t too shocked or blown away by the famous ‘edit’,” she continued.

“I was like, yeah that happened, and obviously there was a steer in narration, but thoughts and feelings, I think it was pretty true to home. For me anyway.”

Former bride Janelle Han agreed with the 26-year-old, stating that her co-stars received “pretty accurate” edits.

“I think a lot of things don’t get shown because you’re filming for so long, but if they had to pick the top line of what happened in most relationships, I think that was shown,” the 28-year-old added.

During his juicy AF Reddit AMA on April 13, Ollie Skelton also confessed that he wasn’t shocked about how his co-stars were portrayed on MAFS.

In fact, he claimed that when he watched the show, his reaction was “20% surprised” and “80% ehhhh saw that one coming.”

Which MAFS stars were the main villains this season?

Harrison Boon was the ultimate villain this season. From gaslighting Bronte Schofield to having a secret girlfriend IRL, the alleged builder copped the most heat for his actions.

The 32-year-old tried to defend himself against his edit, telling Daily Mail: “It’s not who I am”.

However, his on-screen wife and co-stars vehemently disagreed with these claims.

Alyssa Barmonde also received a villain edit this season, which resulted in her losing her job.

The mother-of-one copped a bad edit for mistreating her on-screen husband Duncan James and for using her child as an excuse for her behaviour. Fans even called to have the bride removed from the show, saying she was worse than Harrison.

However, unlike the father-of-one, Alyssa’s co-stars have backed her up, saying she was portrayed unfairly on TV.

“[Alyssa’s] a really beautiful human inside and out and so is Duncan,” Ollie said in his AMA.

“I’m sure she looks back and there are things she could have done differently. Personally, I had nothing but great interactions with them both,” he shared.

Regardless of what did and didn’t happen producers can’t make words come out of your mouth. It’s time to start taking accountability people!
