Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Ollie Skelton hosted a juicy AMA on Reddit where he spilled some major tea about the show and everyone on it.

On April 13, the voice-over artist took to the r/MAFS_AU subreddit to “answer all your questions [about MAFS]”, and he didn’t hold back!

Although the 26-year-old and his on-screen wife Tahnee Cook were this season’s golden couple, many Redditors wanted to know about the unaired arguments between them.

“Probably the biggest [argument] was when Tahnee got back from the Couple Swap,” Ollie shared.

“I was angry at the experiment and I just was super passive with Tahnee and I wanted to go home. I was mentally spent.”

“That was all off camera tho [sic] but touched on during the couch session.

“The irony of it is as much as I hated the Couple Swap and didn’t understand the bloody thing it brought us closer together,” he admitted in the AMA.

Another user asked Ollie if he had any other issues with Tahnee that weren’t shown.

“Our hard times came in the [Couple Swap] but they had probably been simmering in the weeks before that,” Ollie confessed.

“It was just we were in such a small space and we were exhausted from the show and I guess bickering more than anything.

“We always had really good communication though and I think that was what made us have a really strong bond in the end,” he added.

Ollie Skelton believes that his co-stars were portrayed accurately on MAFS

Ollie wasn’t shocked about how his co-stars were portrayed on MAFS. In fact, he claimed that when he watched the show, his reaction was “20% surprised” and “80% ehhhh saw that one coming.”

However, he believed that controversial bride Alyssa Barmonde received an unfair edit.

“She’s a really beautiful human inside and out and so is Duncan [James]. I’m sure she looks back and there are things she could have done differently, but personally, I had nothing but great interactions with them both,” he shared.

Ollie Skelton hits back at claims that MAFS is staged

When asked if MAFS was staged, Ollie confirmed that the show is “all real”.

He claimed that “90% of the essence of each room [was] captured”, and only 10% of the editing was for “dramatic effect”. Hmm, did production pay him to say that?

Another user asked if there were any moments that were taken out of context.

Ollie admitted that there were a few instances that weren’t portrayed accurately.

Firstly, he shared that “Rupert [Bugden] was only nervous on his wedding day,” rather than throughout his entire relationship with Evelyn Ellis.

He also spilled that “Claire [Nomarhas] and [Jesse Burford] weren’t together at the end of the show,” which Jesse also confirmed in a rogue Facebook post.

Lastly, he dished that everyone knew that the mystery lady Shannon Adams was caught with was actually his cousin. Damn, producers were clearly THIRSTY for content!

Ollie Skelton calls out Harrison Boon’s toxic behaviour

One Redditor asked why Ollie didn’t “speak up every time Harrison Boon opened his mouth and said something stupid.”

“[I] spoke up several times,” Ollie said.

“We had a back and forth at the Boys’ Night for about half an hour where they cut the whole bloody thing.

“I always felt comfortable disagreeing with Harry because it never got heated and was always a bit of a debate.”

“I don’t know why it didn’t get a run but hey cookie crumbles,” he added.

We speak on behalf of the whole MAFS fandom when we say: WE WANT TO SEE THIS FOOTAGE!

Ollie also admitted that he “hated” the fact that producers cut the footage of him calling out Harrison.

“Yeah, I hated that they didn’t put any of the back and forth that Harrison and I had. Granted, the butt ‘dial‘ and the [Couples Retreat], I didn’t speak up when I should have and I think they set me up for that narrative.

“But personally, I felt I didn’t shut up after that,” he said.

Well, someone had to call him out, and we’re glad it was Ollie! We hope there’s part two to this Reddit AMA from Ollie.
