Only a handful of brides from Married at First Sight Australia 2023 have been invited to attend Australian Fashion Week next month.

The move is sure to crush several contestants’ dreams of getting that elusive blue tick on Instagram. But Australian Fashion Week has a prestigious reputation to uphold and doesn’t need any fame-hungry influencers stealing anyone’s seat or nicking goody bags… Oh wait, that did happen last year.

Which MAFS contestants scored an invite to Australian Fashion Week?

So to stop anything unsavoury from going down this time, Australian Fashion Week is reportedly not extending invites to any Tom, Dick or Harry who’s been on reality TV.

MAFS brides Janelle Han, Tahnee Cook and Evelyn Ellis have all scored passes to Australian Fashion Week.

Janelle’s invitation doesn’t really come as a shock. She was already a bonafide TikTok star and makeup artist prior to her stint on MAFS.

Presumably, Tahnee’s background in fashion PR helped her make the list.

And Evelyn also made the cut, probably because she dabbles in modelling.

Sandy Jawanda has also reportedly RSVP’d to attend as has Duncan James. This will present an excellent opportunity to spy on his interactions with Evelyn because we’re pretty much convinced they’re dating.

It’s like the organisers have specifically invited MAFS contestants who weren’t at the centre of every drama.

What went down at Australian Fashion Week in 2022

To say last year’s Australian Fashion Week was a sh*t show would be an understatement.

So Dramatic! reported at the time that MAFS pest Nasser Sultan stole a goodie bag that wasn’t meant for him.

“Nasser walks in and sits front row and takes the front row-only goodie bag, then moves to the backseat, which is in the back row, and emptied the contents of the goodie bag into his own bag,” the insider dished. LOL!

Meanwhile, Olivia Frazer reportedly pinched someone else’s front-row seat at the Bec & Bridge show because she didn’t like the one she was allocated.

Strangely enough, former Vogue editor Kirstie Clements defended much of the furore in the name of “entertainment” and hello have we found a fellow MAFS fan?

“Everyone has the right to participate and enjoy Fashion Week and that’s not me being woke. That’s the reality,” she said at the time.

“Yes, it’s not as elite as it used to be, but you know what? Fashion is entertainment.”

And we’re all for entertainment here…
