Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Harrison Boon and Bronte Schofield‘s final couch session was cut from the reunion and boy, do we have the tea!

As the most contentious couple of the experiment this year, fans were keen to see the duo relive their rollercoaster marriage and of course, for Harrison to be grilled one final time by the experts.

However, viewers were left high and dry when the episode failed to show the couple face the experts, despite promos for the finale teasing their couch scenes.

Safe to say fans weren’t happy ’bout it!

What happened during Harrison Boon and Bronte Schofield’s final couch session on Married at First Sight?

While we may not have seen it unfold onscreen, sources told So Dramatic! that Harrison and Bronte were “just bickering the whole time” they were on the couch.

“There was probably not much they could use,” one insider admitted.

“It seems like they might have overkilled the Harrison and Bronte storyline and wanted to give the other couples some airtime.”

They added that the cast “also ended” Harrison at the preceding Dinner Party, and TBH, that episode alone almost makes up for the pair not being shown in the finale.

Expert John Aiken reportedly told Harrison and Bronte that “there was nothing they could say to help them as they were the most controversial couple they’ve ever had and were a lost cause”.

A second source also dished to So Dramatic! that Harrison’s countless lies were debunked by footage from the experiment, which resulted in “the experts laughing at him by the end of it”.

“The experts go hard at Harrison. They tell him that he lacks the ability to take any accountability or ownership for his behaviour and actions, and it’s always Bronte’s fault in his mind,” one contestant spilled.

“Bronte also goes hard on him saying, ‘All I did was protect you and defend you, which I didn’t have to do. But I was trying to be a good partner’.”

However, her ex-hubby turns it around on her and her sister, Kirra, who he claimed “yelled” at him during home stays week.

“So, the experts say, ‘OK, well, let’s watch the footage for ourselves’.”

Lo and behold, there was “no yelling”.

“Bronte’s sister was cool, calm and collected and everyone was like, ‘Where’s the yelling?'” one participant explained.

“It’s so embarrassing for him. It’s his complete undoing because it proves he just lies about everything.”

So, why were Harrison Boon and Bronte Schofield’s scenes cut from the Married at First Sight reunion?

One MAFS insider exclusively revealed to So Dramatic! that the father-of-one “was not happy” with his portrayal after watching scenes back at the reunion.

“He thought he was going to be the alpha male jock type and Bronte was going to be the villain,” they explained.

“His highlight reel made him look like an absolute idiot and he was extremely embarrassed, as that’s not at all how he sees himself.

“He complained to producers on the night it was filmed, saying it wasn’t an accurate representation of him or what had happened and tried to get his edit redone.

“Everyone was like, ‘Dude, we’re literally watching everything that you said that you didn’t do. Everything you said you didn’t say, we’ve just seen it with our own eyes’.”

The source confirmed that “the experts also roasted him” and held him to account for his “behaviour towards Bronte and other cast members”.

“They described it as narcissism and gaslighting,” they added.

As such, Harrison allegedly “threatened Channel Nine with legal action”.

“[He] told them if they air the scenes from the reunion, he will sue them for defamation of character,” the insider claimed. “They must not have wanted the headache, so they just cut him out altogether.”

This isn’t Harrison’s first go at engaging lawyers — he recently sent So Dramatic! a cease and desist letter in response to reports in which sources claimed he was “manipulative” and “emotionally abusive” to Bronte.

His ex, Sophie, also detailed his regular threats of legal action in a tell-all episode of the So Dramatic! podcast.

Channel Nine breaks silence on omitting Harrison Boon and Bronte Schofield from the MAFS finale

After reaching out to Channel Nine regarding the omission of Harrison and Bronte, a spokesperson told So Dramatic! their focus was on couples who had “more story to explore”.

“With all participants returning, unfortunately, we just didn’t have the time to feature everyone in the episode,” they said.

“We felt Bronte and Harrison’s journey had already been canvassed very extensively, so chose to feature other couples with still more story to explore.”

They did not comment on allegations that Harrison had threatened legal action against the network.

Harrison’s grilling at the Reunion Dinner Party was the ‘pefect ending’

Similarly, an unnamed source told Yahoo! Lifestyle that the last Dinner Party was the “perfect end to their storyline”.

“Producers wanted to try and give the season a somewhat happy ending, which is why they cut Harrison and Bronte’s time on the sofa and left on a cliffhanger with Jesse [Burford] and Claire [Nomarhas] potentially reuniting instead,” they explained.

“Harrison and Bronte’s relationship dominated the season, with every aspect discussed in-depth every week. The only fresh revelation was Harrison’s screenshots of Bronte talking to his ex.”

They added: “But the way that played out at the dinner party, with everyone mocking him, was so organic and hilarious that it was the perfect end to their storyline.”
