Married at First Sight Australia 2021 couple Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson, finally tied the knot IRL. However, their big day didn’t come without a sh*tload of controversy and drama with an open brawl breaking out during the wedding.
The duo first walked down the aisle during Season Eight of the marriage experiment. Now they’ve made their love permanent (and legal!) in a ceremony at Sorrento, Victoria, on February 24.
A clip from the reception showed the couple taking a huge tumble during their first dance.
However, it wasn’t the only hiccup during the celebrations. As revealed in episode 265 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the paparazzi got into a huge brawl with security guards during the nuptials.
One source who is mates with Bryce’s younger brother Troy (who was the best man at the wedding), said he’d told him about some huge drama involving a Daily Mail photographer, who was there on the day to take pictures of the whole event.
Troy reportedly explained to his friend that the infamous MAFS couple had an exclusive deal with New Idea for their wedding, and “didn’t want anything that jeopardise that payday.”
“The only issue was that the happy couple had invited the Daily Mail’s paparazzi as a guest – well, actually more than a guest. He was in the f*cking limo with Bryce, Troy, Jason Engler and a couple of other roosters,” Troy’s mate spilled to So Dramatic!. “Go figure.”
They continued: “Anyway, they turn up at the All Smiles Cafe in Sorrento where the wedding was held and Bryce is ushered into the event by a security guard with an umbrella blocking any chance of a picture by the photographer.”

According to Troy, the Daily Mail paparazzo “wasn’t done”, so he found a spot up on the hill “where he could get pictures.” However, just as Melissa was walking down the aisle, he was “confronted by the security guard.”
“Actually more than confronted,” the source dished. “Troy told me he stood in the way of the guy every time he tried to get a shot and from there things really flared up.
“So much so that one of the wedding party rang the security guard to tell him to back off before things escalated further and f*cked the wedding completely.”

And things did escalate further, according to Troy.
He recalled to his friend that the security guard told the Daily Mail photographer that he would “f*ck his daughter and mother up the arse.” He also said, ‘if his mother was dead, he would dig her up and do it.’ Yikes!
“The photographer saw red and pushed the security guard who then retreated, only to repeat the vile remarks as he returned to the ceremony,” the source alleged.
According to Troy’s recount, about half an hour later things escalated again when the photographer tried to get pictures of Bryce and Melissa on the beach.
“He was accosted by Nick Furphy who [allegedly] threatened him and tried to throw him to the ground,” they alleged.
“Troy told me that by this stage the photographer had had enough so returned to his car only to be confronted by the security guard who repeated the remarks of earlier.
“This time, Troy says, the photographer went at him, telling him he was going to knock his f*cking block off.”
A ‘full open brawl’ occurred at Bryce and Melissa’s wedding
According to the insider, the alleged incident happened in front of a number of people from the wedding party. The scuffle ended with the security guard being hauled away from his supervisor before a “full open brawl” occurred.
We must admit, it is kinda strange given that there haven’t been any photos or videos of this alleged brawl that have resurfaced on social media… Maybe the only people who were allowed to have cameras were the ones involved?
Troy’s mate also dished that he’s set to follow in his brother’s footsteps, claiming he’s signed up for MAFS next year. And dear God, please, no.
So Dramatic! contacted the Daily Mail paparazzo for comment and he denied he was involved in the incident. However, he confirmed Nick and Jesse Konstantinoff did “go off at a photographer who was taking photos on the day.”
He explained that some people were trying to stop photographers from taking photos. However, claimed it was another photographer as he was attending the wedding “as a guest” and only taking “BTS bits” for Bryce.
Bryce’s brother Troy told So Dramatic! that the claims from his friend were “completely false.”
Between the all-in brawl and Bryce dropping Melissa during their first dance, it sounds like it was quite an eventful wedding!
