We’re blatantly ignoring our abysmal love lives in 2022 by instead focusing and reminiscing on some of the biggest reality TV star breakups of the year.
With secret splits, cheating scandals, on-screen hookups, and seedy party pashes aplenty, we’ve collated the most dramatic celebrity splits to make us feel better about not welcoming in 2023 with a new bae.

The Bachelorette’s Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli welcomed in 2022 with the year’s first heart-shattering split
The first reality TV star breakup for 2022 was The Bachelorette’s Darvid Garayeli and Brooke Blurton.
Our first-ever First Nations lead was blindsided after the landscaper announced their breakup on Instagram on January 2, because he wanted to “start off the New Year with the end of a chapter”. Ouch.
Hours later (because ol’ mate decided to drop that particular bombshell at 6 am), Brooke revealed her live-in boyfie‘s announcement had come without her consent.
“I just woke up to the news. It was definitely agreed to part ways. I just wanted to do it privately, amicably, and respectfully,” Brooke responded on her Story (at 10 am, a normal goddamn hour).
In episode 138 of the So Dramatic! podcast, an insider said Darvid’s distrust got the better of their relationship.
They claimed Darvid was “paranoid” that she was still keen on “American Alex” Bordyukov (whom she starred with on Bachelor in Paradise) or Geelong footballer Jed Bews. He allegedly even accused her of cheating.
Brooke has since moved on with her on-again, off-again, on-again (??) boyfriend, radio producer Sam McGinn. Darvid remains single.
Married at First Sight’s Jackson Lonie and Olivia Frazer break up months after he was caught (on camera) cheating
There was trouble in Married at First Sight villain paradise after Jackson Lonie was filmed party pashing another woman (who was not his girlfriend at the time, Olivia Frazer).
The woman was later revealed by So Dramatic! to be tradie Hannah Hughes, who exclusively told us that the dirty disco tonguey took place at Lava Lounge, in Melbourne’s southeastern suburb of Berwick. Apparently, the pair even exchanged numbers!
On June 1, Jackson and Olivia dropped an awkward AF video addressing the cheating allegations, with the TV groom admitting he had “f*cked up”. At the time, they claimed that they were still together.
It wasn’t until August that the pair finally confirmed their split, suggesting they had only just decided to part ways. But as reported by So Dramatic!, a source that knows the pair reckons they broke up after Jackson cheated in May.
Following their official breakup, both Olivia and Jackson hinted that there was more to the break up in the neverending slew of Instagram Live Q&A sessions. Seriously, somebody needs to put a child lock on their phones or something…
Olivia has since moved on with an English lad named Will, whilst Jackson is now reportedly dating Bachelor star Jacinta ‘Jay’ Lal.

The Bachelorette’s Konrad Bien-Stephen reportedly cheats on Abbie Chatfield with Megan Marx
The one reality TV breakup we can’t ignore in 2022 is, of course, Abbie Chatfield and Konrad Bien-Stephen.
The pair’s romance started off with a bang (and plenty of drama!) after they were papped hooking up in Byron Bay whilst Konrad was still vying for Brooke’s (also Abbie’s bestie) heart on The Bachelorette.
As such, we guess it’s no surprise that it came crashing down in just as dramatic fashion, if not more.
Tthe pair seemed to be living their best open relationship lives and challenging traditional ideas of what love looks like. However, fans were shocked when rumours emerged that Konrad had hooked up with Megan Marx whilst filming The Challenge.
Abbie was forced to address the rumours, saying she wouldn’t comment on the matter until Konrad was home from Argentina but confirmed they had split “months ago.” So no cheating after all!
Abbie is currently in her “single and slutty era” and enjoying a “roster of men” (not to mention being unfairly slut-shamed).
Meanwhile, Konrad is rumoured to be dating Indie Pop singer Thelma Plum.
Tina Provis and Mitch Hibberd‘s break-up crushed our souls and Love Island Australia 2022 stepped on the remains
Love Island Australia 2021 winners Mitch Hibberd and Tina Provis quickly became fan favourites after they locked eyes in the villa, leading their love to score them $50,000 in prize money.
But it was surprisingly a short-lived romance IRL, with the pair breaking up a few months later in February 2022.
Tina and Mitch both shared the news on their respective Instagram accounts at the time. However, they did not reveal why they had decided to part ways.
Cheating rumours soon emerged after So Dramatic! revealed that Mitch had hooked up with co-star Emily Ward just days after his split from Tina.
Just when we thought the saga was finally over, they both returned to Love Island Australia 2022 as bombs. And, shock horror: they reunited and left the villa together — again. Producers rejoiced!
However, their second shot at love was even more short-lived than their first, with the pair confirming they were not together following their eviction from the show.
Mitch was soon rumoured to be dating another 2022 Islander, Layla John and Deja Vu, much?!
