Married at First Sight Australia‘s 2021 villain Bryce Ruthven has revealed that he was dropped from a new TV show at the eleventh hour in a spicy Instagram Q&A.

During the tea-spilling session on March 20, the former radio announcer admitted that he was meant to appear on a new show and what did we do in a past life to deserve this torture?!

“True story… I was supposed to start filming another TV show in the next few weeks but after being cast by the production company the TV network decided to go in a different direction,” the 33-year-old admitted.

Hmm, we wonder which show dumped him at the last minute? I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is about to start filming any day now – could it have been that?

Not only that but back in May 2021, So Dramatic! reported that the reality TV villain would be making an appearance on the show.

In episode 77 of the So Dramatic! podcast, it was revealed that the father-of-two allegedly had a Skype meeting with one of the show’s executive producers, but clearly, nothing came of it.

When asked if he’d be on the 2023 season, Bryce replied: “I’ve had many DM’s about this in the past week, and nah, I’m not.” And thank god. We’ve had enough of Bryce to last a lifetime tbh.

But that wasn’t the only tea he spilled during the Q&A…

Bryce Ruthven shares his thoughts on the current season of Married at First Sight Australia

When asked to share his thoughts on the current season of MAFS, Bryce didn’t hold back.

“I’ll keep that to myself,” he said, before proceeding to do the exact opposite.

The former contestant revealed that he believed the current cast was full of people looking for a blue tick.

However, after dropping this shady insult, Bryce went on to say that he doesn’t think it’s fair for former MAFS contestants to “jump on their socials and slag people off doing the show currently.” And Domenica [Calarco], we’re looking at you…

He then went against his own words (again), and talked about how Brent Vitiello was “slagging people off,” stating that the 2022 contestant “got a lucky edit” and “seriously needed to move on with [his life].”

The hypocrisy!

Bryce Ruthven spills his thoughts on Harrison Boon

Bryce then shared his thoughts on a fellow member of the gaslighting committee, Harrison Boon.

“While many do…I’m not the type to judge people off what you see on MAFS,” he started.

“I know exactly what producers get up to behind the scenes of that show, and how heavily they edit conversations to suit storylines.” Ahh, sounds like a classic case of bros defending each other.

Bryce then went on to say that Harrison has been a victim of some “terrible editing,” before shifting the blame on his wife Bronte Schofield.

“It feels like we’re not seeing everything… they’re possibly both at fault for different things.”

Bryce also shared that Harrison apologised for trolling the former groom back when his season was airing.

“He reached out, gave me a call and apologised for the comments he said at the time,” Bryce continued. This might be the only time Harrison has ever taken accountability!

Bryce reveals that he has an exclusive contract with New Idea

During his Q&A, Bryce shared that he and his wife Melissa Rawson scored an exclusive contract with New Idea after their reason aired.

“Since the conclusion of MAFS, we’ve been on a contract with New Idea. We’ve been the only couple from any AUS reality TV show to have such an agreement with Australia’s biggest pop culture magazine,” he dished.

He then indirectly admitted that the agreement would help him protect his image, as he stated that the contract allowed him to “get fair and accurate reporting in the media from [New Idea].”

Bryce also claimed that his haters were “jealous” of his contract with the magazine. And sure, Jan, sure…

Bryce reveals if he’d participate in the Married at First Sight Partner Swap

To nobody’s surprise, Bryce confessed that he wouldn’t participate in the “bullsh*t” MAFS Partner Swap challenge.

“There’s absolutely no benefit to that task other than trying to cause potential drama for a TV show and hope someone slips up late and cheats [so] they can potentially milk a love interest storyline,” he shared.

And duh! That’s the point. You get that MAFS is a reality show, right?

Bryce confesses that his season of Married at First Sight was super edited

When asked if he believed MAFS needed to “make it clear what reality involves”, Bryce admitted that his season was very edited, with “conversations and scenarios chopped apart more than meat at the butcher.”

“They need to define what the definition of ‘reality’ is because I can only speak from my experience, but it certainly wasn’t the reality of how our relationship played out,” he confessed.

Bryce then claimed that the contracts were intentionally confusing so participants didn’t really know what they were signing up for.

“The contracts are huge, the wording is complicated unless you know legal terms. And they’re designed to cover the TV show and not the participant,” he dished.

He also revealed that producers didn’t want him to work in the radio industry whilst the show was airing.

“I had my lawyer look over my contract before I signed it and I had to get a few things changed because they wanted to have it that I couldn’t work in radio while the show was still airing,” he said.

“I got told it was changed, but it was only the wording and then it still limited my job at the time.”

Bryce claims that he’s had one apology for the way he was treated on Married at First Sight

Booka Nile has apologised for the way she treated Bryce on MAFS, and we didn’t know he was owed an apology from anyone!

“I’ve only ever had one person reach out with an apology and that came from Booka Nile. We didn’t really agree on much during the show but now we’ve had opportunities to chat,” he said, sharing that he thinks “she’s a lovely person.”

“In terms of apologies from anyone else…. dreaming,” he joked.

Bryce reveals whether his brother will appear on Married at First Sight 2o24

In episode 265 of the So Dramatic! Podcast, it was revealed that Bryce’s brother Troy Ruthven had reportedly signed on for MAFS 2024.

However, when asked about this in his Q&A, Bryce claimed that it was just a rumour and phew!

“[It was a] bullsh*t rumour made up by a paparazzi named Steve because he cracked the sh*ts he only made $400 from selling photos of our wedding,” he spilled.

“Guess he thought spreading rumours would hurt us… it didn’t. I reckon his bank account would’ve felt more pain from what his fuel bill would’ve cost him to get to our wedding.” Savage!
