Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Harrison Boon has proven yet again that he’s not just an as*hole for the cameras, with old and totally f*cked Facebook posts about child support and gender pay gaps coming to light.
As reported in episode 258 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the 32-year-old TV villain made several (kinda terrifying) Facebook posts about women’s rights. Thank goodness another cisgender white man got to put his two cents in!
It comes after So Dramatic! exposed Harrison for several concerning social media posts, including a racist tirade about international tourists and his staunch anti-vax views.
But apparently, we missed a few doozies, as even more of Harrison’s problematic claims come back to bite him.
In a Facebook post from December 2018, Harrison – who has since become a father himself – decided to share his opinions on abortion and child support.
We’ll give him a teeny-tiny amount of credit, though; he actually started off the post alright…
“It’s a woman’s right to abortion or to keep a pregnancy,” Harrison wrote. Woohoo, the bare minimum!
Oh, how we wish he ended it there. But no, he continued: “Should men be forced to pay child support for a child they had no choice in keeping? If men have no say in abortion, then should we be financially responsible?”
He was apparently feeling especially misogynistic that week.
In a second post, Harrison claimed there was “no such thing as a ‘gender wage gap‘”.
The like-to-comment ratio on that post is the only thing keeping us going at this point…
Harrison Boon roasts himself (?!) in a scathing post about Married at First Sight
On a slightly less horrifying note, we also stumbled across a hilariously meta post that Harrison made about Married at First Sight.
“Married at First Sight is easily the most morally corrupt excuse for a TV show I’ve ever seen,” Harrison wrote. To be fair, he’s not exactly wrong about that one.
He added: “We witness these three ‘experts’ put empathetic and hugely co-dependant young women with these image-driven and narcissistic players simply to watch the relationships fail for our entertainment.”
Wowza! An “image-driven narcissistic player”… We couldn’t have described you better ourselves, Haz!
Harrison accuses MAFS stars of having mental illnesses and we guess he must be speaking from experience
In another post from February 2020, Harrison accused the cast of MAFS of being mentally unwell.
“Five minutes in and I’m already loving mental illness at first sight,” he wrote. “Oh, I meant married at first sight [sic.”
In a subsequent post, he asked: “Where do they find these people.” And yeah, Harrison, where do they find these people?
