Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Harrison Boon has been called out for penning racist remarks in which he described international tourists as “animals”.

The 33-year-old construction worker complained on Instagram in 2018 that “Asian tourists” who were “coughing” and “spitting” ruined his experience at NSW’s Blue Mountains.

“This place would be so majestic if it weren’t for the hordes of Asian tourists hack coughing and then spitting their lung butter onto the tourist-ridden footpath below where people were posing for family photos.” Harrison wrote.

“Unfortunately ruining the experience for me. But still. Pretty sweet views.”

Daily Mail Australia also reported that a follower replied to his complaint, adding: “They’re animals. I had a go at a group for the exact same thing the other day.”

Harrison allegedly agreed with his statement, replying: “No way bro you too? They full act like animals aye [sic].”

Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Harrison Boon shares a post claiming that white privilege isn’t real

This prejudiced statement wasn’t the first time he has made problematic comments about race.

Harrison — who is a cisgender, white man — shared a video in 2020 of controversial Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson arguing that the concept of “white privilege” was “reprehensible”.

“The idea that you can target an ethnic group with a collective crime regardless of the specific innocence or guilt of the constituent elements of that group. There is absolutely nothing more racist than that,” Jordan claimed in the footage.

“Topical,” Harrison captioned his Facebook post.

It appears that Harrison still maintains similar values. In June 2022, he shared a group photo of himself with two male friends all dressed in Ralph Lauren puffer jackets.

“You may not like it but this is what peak white upper middle class looks like,” Harrison claimed.

The MAFS groom and his family have also come under fire for being staunch anti-vaxxers, with resurfaced posts challenging COVID-19 mandates.
