Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Harrison Boon has received significant (and justified) backlash for his “gaslighting” behaviour, but his mum Noni Boon has defended his actions in an ill-advised public Facebook post.

ICYMI – The 32-year-old construction worker was quickly crowned as the season’s biggest “villain” after repeatedly “gaslighting” and being “emotionally abusive” towards his TV bride Bronte Schofield.

His biggest scandal sparked after Jessica Tomlinson alleged that Harrison was still talking to The Bachelors reject Abby Miller and the drama has only snowballed from there.

Soon after the MAFS experts ripped Harrison a new one for trying to spin his BS during the February 12 episode, his mother took to Facebook to publically defend her son’s dodgy behaviour.

Noni – who also shares her son’s anti-vaxxer beliefs – claimed that “Harrison knew full well what he was in for when he said yes to MAFS” in a post on her personal Facebook.

“It has come as a shock to learn that his ‘TV wife’ knew his identity and the life he was living prior to the day they met and married on camera, although she appears to be shocked and hurt by this revelation,” she continued

“What we are seeing now is indeed Bronte playing it to her advantage and amping it up for the camera at Harrison’s expense but that’s reality TV.

Noni hinted that as the experiment progressed, Harrison will continue to not “back down or take crap from anyone”. Yep, that’s a terrifying thought.

She added: “Harrison won’t be guilted by the ‘experts’… and he will always own it if he is in the wrong and he’s perfectly ok with that, as am I.”

Noni went on to slam anybody who was “gullible” and “severely naive” enough to believe what is being shown on TV is the “real Harrison Boon”.

She reminded viewers that Married at First Sight is “not a documentary” and “not worth the time [they] have invested]” into being “nasty” to both her and Harrison.

“I love my son and I am not ashamed of him. I am proud because he has more courage than all of you put together. That’s why he has put himself out there in your firing line,” Noni claimed.

MAFS fans quickly shared their responses in the comment section, defending Bronte and arguing that Harrison displayed “gaslighting” and “narcissistic” behaviours.

To one comment about Harrison’s alleged narcissism, Noni responded: “Oh right. Makes sense you can conclude a psychological diagnosis [from] a reality TV show.”

She also claimed that Harrison didn’t have a “secret girlfriend” and was on Tinder because “many of the girls on it just want sex”.

Noni also argued that the Australian mainstream media was not ‘reliable” and perpetuated the “villain” edit that Harrison received.

However, she later shared a Daily Mail article about Bronte multiple times to prove her point (which is just so hilariously ironic).

“He’s not guilty of anything except being played,” Noni claimed in another comment thread.

She went on to slam anybody who argued against her for bullying a “loving mother”.

Noni has since limited comments on the Facebook post.
