Not only did Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Bronte Schofield date former The Bachelorette star Todd King, but she was busted texting him while filming.
Bronte and Harrison Boon‘s marriage got off to a contentious start after it was alleged the father-of-one intended to keep seeing his IRL bae and Bachelor star Abby Miller while in the marriage experiment.
At the time, the 28-year-old demanded her hubby cut ties with the 22-year-old reality star.
However, sources have since revealed to So Dramatic! that Bronte was also regularly in touch with a former reality TV flame while on the show.
As revealed in episode 252 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Bronte and Todd — who was runner-up on Ali Oetjen‘s Bachie season — “dated on and off for years”.
“They have gotten back together and tried to make things work many times since,” one source explained.
A couple of months after their most recent split in February 2022, Bronte got the call to be on MAFS.
“She said no at first, then they persisted and eventually she said, ‘F*ck it, why not?'”
While Todd “wasn’t happy at all” when he learned of Bronte’s plans for TV, he “eventually told Bronte he would support her and offer her advice during filming if she needed it”.
“He comes up a lot on the show,” the insider revealed

Sources clarified to So Dramatic! that Bronte and Todd’s relationship was “nothing romantic” at this stage, with the bride being upfront with Harrison over their friendship.
“He was just saying, ‘I hope you’re OK’ and ‘I’m here if you need to talk to me’,” they explained. “That was about it. They’re just friends.
“Bronte told Harrison from day one. She was like ‘my ex and I still talk, we’re still friends, so if you see him come up on my phone, or if anything happens, I want you to know that there’s nothing going on. I don’t have anything to hide.’”
While Harrison was initially “cool with it”, his position changed “later down the track”.
“Harrison gets insecure that Todd and Bronte still talk,” a source revealed. “He used it as ammo against her and wasn’t cool with it at all.”
Meanwhile, another source confirmed that the Western Australian was “talking to Todd the whole time”.
“She was on her honeymoon and she was talking and texting him non-stop.”

Further adding fuel to the fire, Todd left a few cheeky comments under Bronte’s Instagram pics in the lead-up to Married at First Sight airing.
Underneath one photo of Bronte and Jessica Tomlinson — The Bachelors star who “sabotaged” her wedding — Todd penned: “Throwback to happier times.”
“1-minute silence for all the fallen snakes,” Bronte replied before the pair referenced Jessica conspiring with producers to get the drama caught on mic.
Interestingly, Todd has since deleted his comments from the post and subsequently nuked his account completely before the show started airing.
Bit suss, huh?
Todd explained to So Dramatic! that he closed his account due to work reasons (ICYMI: he’s a cop in Western Australia), but he’s since fired up a finsta (fake Instagram account) to keep in touch with close friends.
Something tells us this Bronte/Harrison/Todd storyline will explode — big time.
