After eight weeks of non-stop drama, twists and turns, cheating scandals and partner swaps aplenty, and the word ‘gaslighting’ being used way more than one would think humanly possible, Married at First Sight Australia 2023 is finally coming to a close with the much-anticipated Final Vows ceremonies.
Following the spicy Final Dinner Party featuring that brutal honest box on March 22, the couples bid farewell to the experiment (some for good) and returned to their respective homes to think about whether they truly wanted to be with their expert-appointed baes.
For some, it’s a no-brainer but for others… Let’s just say they didn’t exactly get the memo.
**SPOILER ALERT**: This article contains spoilers about future episodes of Married At First Sight.
So Dramatic! can reveal that only two out of the five couples who made it to Final Vows choose to stay together and both pairs are still together now (hallelujah!). Keep scrolling to find out who…
Duncan and Alyssa
It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for Duncan James and Alyssa Barmonde (and viewers) this season but there’s still one more dramatic turn yet to come.
One source revealed in episode 267 of the So Dramatic! podcast that things go awry again for the pair at their Final Vows when Duncan brutally dumps the mother-of-one. Which is kinda not surprising given what ensued at the Final Dinner Party between them.
“She thought it was going to be a ‘yes’ and that she held all the power,” one source said. “But he said, ‘Nup, you’re not for me’. Alyssa was heartbroken and didn’t see his decision coming at all.
“He had been put through the wringer with her and had finally had enough.”
Apparently, the cyber security salesman felt he was “never going to be good enough” for Alyssa, 35, “no matter what he did”.
The 36-year-old originally said he “need another week to decide” whether he wanted to be with Alyssa. However, he “had to give an answer at that point in time so he said ‘no’”.
“Alyssa wanted to recommit but he didn’t after the way she’d been treating him,” insiders explained.
“After their huge fight [at the dinner party] they stayed in separate rooms, so didn’t finish the experiment on a good note at all.”
Even producers were sympathising with the groom, asking him “how he was putting up with Alyssa”.
Do we think they’re still together? Absolutely not.
Melinda and Layton
Another couple who’ve had more ups and downs than a rollercoaster this season is our CEO power couple Melinda Willis and Layton Mills.
At the Final Dinner Party, boss babe Melinda put her heart on the line, telling Layton she was falling in love with him, but the sentiment wasn’t reciprocated. So what does the future look like for these two?
One source tells So Dramatic! that the couple’s Final Vows are “emotional” with “lots of tears” and both of them “leave nothing on the table”.
“They both put everything out there and tell the other person how they are feeling, what they like and don’t like about them and their biggest concerns,” the insider dished.
“It gets very intense and there is a moment where you don’t know which way it’s going to go and viewers will struggle to guess the outcome.”
However, So Dramatic! can reveal that both Layton and Melinda choose to continue the relationship and give it a shot IRL and thank god because we’re really rooting for these too!
And they’ve managed to go the distance, with one contestant spilling the beans to So Dramatic! about their current status in episode 267 of the podcast.
“Melinda and Layton are so in love. They’re still together now. She puts him in line. They will be the golden couple. The new [Cameron Merchant] and Jules [Robinson],” the contestant dished.
A second contestant backed up the claims the pair were still happy together.
“At the Reunion, Melinda and Layton looked like a couple. They were kissing and hugging, it was actually really beautiful to watch,” they said.
Do we think they’re still together? All signs point to YES!
Tahnee and Ollie
There’s no surprises that this season’s strongest couple Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton both choose to continue their romance after the experiment.
“Their Final Vows are adorable,” one contestant gushed. “It’s as cute as you’d expect.
“They do try to make it suspensful and throw some doubt in there, mainly around Ollie not feeling good enough for Tahnee and how they would make it work given they live on other sides of the country. I guess that was only because it was obvious what their decisions were going to be.
“But they have a beautiful moment and Ollie tells Tahnee he’s in love with her.” Awww!
Another insider revealed that the pair have managed to keep the spark alive in the real world and have already moved in together. SQUEAL!
A MAFS contestant has confirmed the 26-year-old voiceover artist has made a life-changing move from Perth to Sydney to be with his reality star beau (and probs grow his career, NGL).
They appear to be moving into a new place together. Tahnee, Ollie and their co-star Josh White were snapped by paparazzi spotted moving furniture from her Bondi apartment into a white van. So it checks out! Hallelujah!

Rupert and Evelyn
Intruder couple Rupert Budgen and Evelyn Ellis recently consumated their marriage but was it enough for them to go the distance IRL? Unfortunately not.
One contestant tells So Dramatic! that Evelyn DUMPS rupert at the Final Vows because she didn’t feel like he “put in enough effort” during their time in the experiment.
“Evelyn is used to guys worshipping the ground she walks on and Rupert barely showed her he was even interested,” they explained.
“She tried to be patient as she knew he’s a shy guy but it just wasn’t enough to make her want to continue things with him in the real world. He’s not her type at all, let’s be honest.”
Adding, “But they end on good terms and are still friends.”
As revealed in episode 267 of the So Dramatic! Podcast, one contestant revealed they’re unfortunately no longer together.
“Rupert and Evelyn were just friends the whole time,” they dished, adding, “They were never even romantic.
“They’re not in love but they stay until the end.”
Adding: “They’re still friends and on speaking terms. They’ve been hanging out and doing pap pics and stuff to make it look like they’re still together but they’re not.”
Do we think they’re still together? Nahhhhh.
Cameron and Lyndall
Between the partner swaps, shock hook ups, and secret partners they’ve had, it doesnt take a rocket scientisit to figure out Lyndall Grace and Cameron Woods don’t last beyond the experiment.
At home stays, viewers witnessed Cameron tell Lyndall he didn’t see her fitting into his life after dropping a huge combshell about his impossible remote working schedule. Before brutally telling her he wasn’t falling in love with her at the final Dinner Party in front of their cast members.
But turns out Lyndall has the last word and maybe the laugh too.
“Lyndall gave it to Cam at the Final Vows,” one insider tells So Dramatic!
“She prepared this incredible, powerful, strong independant woman-vibes speech about how she deserves better than the scraps he was giving her and it’s iconic.
“Cameron was completely shocked as he didn’t see her brutal speech coming. She gives Brent [Vitiello] a run for his money that’s for sure.
According to our insider, Lyndall was so heartbroken and worn down by the end of the experiment, so she wanted to say her peice and tell Cam how she was feeling.
“She does not hold back and tells him that he didn’t even have the decency to treat her with basic respect,” they revealed.
“You could say she dumps him but it was pretty much over by then anyway.”
