Married at First Sight 2023 fans slam Alyssa Barmonde for ‘destroying’ dreamboat Duncan James

Married at First Sight Australia 2023 fans were equal parts furious and heartbroken as they witnessed Alyssa Barmonde “break” her (seemingly) near-perfect groom Duncan James.

During the March 13 episode, the 36-year-old groom was told to take the place of intruder Rupert Burden in the Partner Swap Challenge, as he temporarily moved in with Evelyn Ellis. Meanwhile, Alyssa was paired up with Cameron Woods.

Duncan quickly realised how much he missed being around her once they were separated.

But Alyssa was too busy cracking “jokes” about her TV husband, suggesting that she actually “hated his guts”.

When they met up again, the certified cutie tried to spark some romance by showing a snap of himself posing sexily with a KitchenAid. NGL, that man has seriously been designed with the female gaze in mind.

But apparently, all Alyssa wanted was to stir up was drama.

She reignited their previous spat, having decided that Duncan wasn’t comfortable with coming second to her son.

“I know you try to understand that dynamic but you’ll never fully understand,” she said of her child.

“It’s not a concern. Your child will be first priority, that’s just a no-brainer. I don’t even know why that question would ever be asked,” Duncan said.

In a side interview, he added: “I feel like I am trying to be positive… It feels like Alyssa puts her walls up really quick because there’s too much emotion in the conversation.”

It comes after Alyssa dramatically exclaimed, “I have a child” (which Duncan already knew BTW), before walking off in tears at the March 12 Commitment Ceremony.

Married at First Sight fans have since been baffled by Alyssa’s quick personality change, having been head-over-heels for Duncan just a few episodes earlier.
