Duncan James and Alyssa Barmonde’s marriage hit a huge speedbump on Married at First Sight Australia 2023, and we hate to be the bearers of bad news but it’s only downhill from here.

ICYMI: During the March 12 Commitment Ceremony, the 35-year-old executive assistant left in tears, leaving Duncan to face the experts on his own. However, Alyssa did eventually return, albeit a crying mess.

However, as revealed in episode 267 of the So Dramatic! podcast, it won’t be the last time Alyssa walks out on Duncan, and the next time it happens, she does not come back.

“There’s another Commitment Ceremony she walks out and doesn’t come back so Duncan is just left there sitting on the couch by himself,” one contestant dishes.

“Duncan chased after her but she told him to go away and said she doesn’t want him near her. So he respected her wishes. Then she ran out, goes into the lift and doesn’t come back.” Yikes!

According to our insider, Alyssa’s behaviour was tres weird and “came out of the blue” because at the Dinner Party just one day before, she told her castmates that everything was fine between them.

Married at First Sight’s Duncan and Alyssa had to be put into separate rooms

In fact, things became so hostile between the couple they even had to be moved to different rooms.

“After the Commitment Ceremony, they couldn’t even sleep in the same room,” one contestant tells So Dramatic!.

“Well, Alyssa didn’t want to sleep in the same room as Duncan so he had to move out and sleep in another room for a night or two.”

According to our insider, the couple slept in separate rooms after the last two Commitment Ceremonies.

Alyssa was with her son every weekend during Married at First Sight 2023

The source went on to detail how the mother-of-one went home to her son “every weekend” during the filming of Married at First Sight, leaving Duncan by himself from Friday to Monday.

“That’s why he was always out with the boys because Alyssa went to see her son every weekend,” they said.

“But the boys all got in trouble for hanging out together and got read the riot act, so they weren’t allowed to hang out anymore, so after that, Duncan was just by himself in the room every weekend.”

They added: “He told the boys he felt isolated and lonely. There was only one weekend during the whole experiment she didn’t see her son.”

Alyssa accused Duncan of not showing real commitment to her

The bride’s biggest fear and insecurity was that the 36-year-old cybersecurity salesman wasn’t going to commit to her.

However, according to our insiders, the groom went “above and beyond” to prove to her that he was in this for the long haul and wanted to make it work outside the experiment.

“Alyssa kept saying she wasn’t seeing real commitment from Duncan but he had literally pulled up both their calendars and tried to make a schedule of how it would work on the outside,” they explained.

“He wanted to work out how many days they could see each other and what days they could be together, what would work around her schedule with her son.

“He was doing everything he could to see how they could make it work in the weeks after the experiment.”

They added: “He was constantly giving her reassurance but it was never enough. She needed 247 reassurance and attention.”
