In her Married at First Sight Australia 2023 audition tape, Alyssa Barmonde revealed that she struggled to get back into dating after ending her previous marriage.
The executive assistant is matched with Duncan James on the show and the pair have restored our hope in the cursed marriage experiment.
Before meeting her on-screen husband, the 35-year-old had “been out of the dating game for seven years”, leaving her clueless when searching for her perfect match.
“I think Tinder just came out when I first started dating,” the bride spilled in the leaked audition tape.
As a single woman, she found the selection of dating apps very overwhelming.
“There’s like 7,000 different apps, and people are like ‘no, get this one’, and it’s too much,” she dished.
When it comes to meeting people in person, she said she’d had even less luck.
“You go out and meet a dude at a bar, and he’s messy,” she said.
We hate to break it to you Alyssa, but the men on MAFS are the messiest of them all.

Opening up about her past marriage, the bride said she didn’t know who she was saying she “kinda lost” herself in the relationship.
“One day, you just wake up and it’s almost like a veil has lifted and you’re like ‘how did I even get here?” she admitted.
Despite her unsuccessful dating history, the bride still believes in true love.
“I definitely still believe in a soul mate” Alyssa shared. And we sure hope she’s found one in Duncan!

When asked about her character flaws, she shared that she’s “quick to respond” and “a bit bossy”.
We’ve seen this first hand in her spats with her 36-year-old hubby, as Alyssa does not shy away from showing him how she feels.
“If somebody tells me something that I don’t want to believe and don’t want to hear, I can very easily be like ‘that’s not true’, even though I kinda know deep down it’s true,” she said.
When asked about her ideal dream date, Alyssa said it came down to three things: tacos, margaritas and dad jokes! Girl, you’re one of us!
Whilst they still have their moments, Alyssa and Duncan have been one of the strongest couples in the experiment this year. We hope they’re still together IRL because we can’t get enough of these two!
