Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Duncan James may have accidentally let slip the fate of his marriage with Alyssa Barmonde.
During an appearance on the Today Show on March 5, the 36-year-old cyber security salesman fumbled when asked about the whereabouts of his on-screen wife.
When asked where Alyssa was, Duncan replied: “Where’s Alyssa? Uh, probably down the road having a coffee. I’m not sure.” Eeek.
When hosts Jayne Azzopardi and Clint Stanaway prodded the TV groom for more information, he joked, “I’ll give her a call when I get out of the studio.” And sure, Jan, sure.
Although Duncan and the 35-year-old executive assistant only live a few minutes away from each other, the pair haven’t been snapped together since filming wrapped last December.
It’s common for couples who are still together to be seen out and about after filming or doing their media interviews together. So it’s safe to assume that their marriage unfortunately hasn’t lasted the distance.
Speculation that the pair had split since leaving the experiment first began when Duncan was spotted cozying up to intruder bride Evelyn Ellis at her viewing party on February 21.
However, the 26-year-old model has since clarified that there’s nothing going on between them.

The fate of his relationship with Alyssa wasn’t the only tea that Duncan spilled during the interview.
He also made the surprising admission that he’s mates with MAFS villain and president of the gaslighting committee Harrison Boon.
“He is a mate, yes,” he confessed.
“You’ve got to have one bad boy in the group, right?” he laughed, before adding, “I think he likes [being] the villain.”
The groom then discussed how his new bestie even likes to dress the part.
“He’s always in black T-shirts,” he said, joking that this makes him “the villain”. Ugh, make it stop!
