Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Bronte Schofield has penned a powerful message revealing she will “forever feel an immense amount of guilt” for trying to save her relationship with Harrison Boon.
Let’s be honest, Bronte’s marriage to Harrison has been nothing less than tumultuous. Everything from Harrison’s secret girlfriend dating scandal to fat-shaming claims and gaslighting and narcissism coming between what should have been their happily ever after.
ICYMI: During the March 22 Dinner Party, Bronte finally had enough of Harrison’s bulls*** and ceremoniously stormed out of the dining room.
“I’m done with you,” Bronte said as she left the room.
“Harrison, we’re done. We’re over. And I honestly never want to see you again.”
Taking to Instagram after the episode aired, the 28-year-old shared a lengthy post in response to the criticism she’d copped for trying to make things work.

Without all the other contestants piping up and producers grilling her, viewers could sense Bronte’s desperation to find love and how deeply affected she is as a result of that. It also checks out with what she said previously about “not coping“.
“‘Fake’, ‘Naive’ & ‘Stupid’ are just a few of the things I have been labelled since being a part of this experiment,” Bronte started off.
“I wanted this to work for so many reasons, reasons that no one will ever know or understand.
“In reality, people’s opinions of me, are none of my business.
“I have learnt that people know your worth, they just hope you don’t, because the minute you realise your worth, you learn the difference between what you’re getting and what you deserve.”
Bronte admits she changed who she was during Married At First Sight
Bronte went on to say she “lost” sight of the “strong, independent, kind, caring, charismatic, funny, loving woman” she was to “get chosen” by Harrison.
“The vortex of this experiment brought me back to a younger B, a B who would not understand that forcing someone to see her world, is not love, it is ego,” she continued.
“I wanted H to see me for who I know I am, a strong, independent, kind, caring, charismatic, funny, loving woman.
Adding: “Instead of showing him that, I lost myself in the process of hoping to get chosen.”
The online beauty educator reflected on her time in the experiment, saying she realised she “needed to choose” herself.
“I swore I would never let a man treat me like that again, until I was facing it head on, without my family, without support & on the other side of the country,” she explained.
Adding, “No one can understand how that feels until you are in it.”
Bronte then revealed it wasn’t easy to walk away from “false hope and promises”, especially when she’d given up “everything” to be part of the experiment.
“For any woman who has been in a similar situation, it is not weak to walk away,” she wrote.
Adding: “I will forever feel an immense amount of guilt for trying to make it work without someone who never wanted me to begin with and showing women everywhere that the is OK to keep choosing someone because you are scared to be alone.. it is not.”
Sheesh, that’s a lot to take in.
Bronte makes one final dig at Harrison
She signed off with sage advice to her fans, telling them to be true to themselves.
“Your feelings are valid,” she wrote.
“You are allowed to enforce your boundaries. You do not need anyone’s approval. Ever. You ARE enough.
“Believe it and never let insecurity run your life.”
Bronte then concluded her lengthy post with a final dig directed at her TV husband.
“As for you Harrison… Forgiving you in silence and never speaking to you again is a form of self-care.
“Take Care, B x”.
Kirra Schofield stands by his sister
Bronte’s sister Kirra, who fans have crowned an honourary relationship expert after calling out Harrison’s behaviour, also took to Instagram to show her support.
She backed up what So Dramatic! has previously spilled about producers manipulating Bronte to stay on Married at First Sight.
“When you’re being manipulated by both on-screen husband and the people behind the scenes you get a false narrative being depicted,” Kirra wrote.
“Bronte wanted to leave for weeks but was forced to stay as her reputation was being threatened to be ruined.
“Just like us Bronte is human and has real emotions and real feelings so when slander is thrown her way for a TV show that was very much out of her control.
Kirra tried to explain to fans how “difficult it would be to process” being in Bronte’s situation, before begging viewers to be kind,
“Please remember to treat everyone the way you wanted to be treated,” she said.
“Which I hope is with kindness and remember it’s just a TV show..”
