Married at First Sight Australia 2023 has already seen multiple grooms dropping the ball, but one intruder groom Rupert Bugden managed to drop his actual wedding ring.
On February 15, Married at First Sight showed fans a first (intentional) look at this year’s two intruder couples and things are seriously heating up!
But the Brisbane-based electrician stole the show (or the teaser trailer, at least) after he dropped the wedding ring during his grand entrance.
In the trailer, Ollie Skelton cringed in comradery at the awkward AF moment while Janelle Han laughed at Rupert’s wedding ring blunder.
Honestly, we’re just concerned that an IRL sparkie has such butter fingers! No wonder he’s making his transition into reality TV stardom!
Before Married at First Sight 2023 premiered, Rupert had just 700 followers on his personal Instagram.
Since switching his Insta account back to public, the intruder groom managed to shoot up to nearly 1200.
But it’s still a stark comparison to his TV wife’s 65,000+ follower count!
Serial reality star-turned Married at First Sight intruder Evelyn Ellis doesn’t sound happy to be matched with Rupert Bugden
It turns out that fellow intruder Evelyn Ellis had already amassed a VERY public profile before her MAFS debut due to a controversial stint on Big Brother UK.
As reported in episode 213 of the So Dramatic! podcast, 26-year-old Evelyn already made waves on TV in 2016.
The criticisms came after Evelyn shared a steamy kiss with another female contestant in a spa while topless.
*Sniff…* Do we smell some homophobic AF behaviour from BBUK 2016 audiences?! Oh, is that a hint of misogyny and slut shaming? We’re pretty sure Harrison Boon must use that as his personal cologne.
Despite the public TV pash, the former model confessed she wasn’t looking for love at the time.
“I feel like a guy that’s good enough for me would not be in the Big Brother house,” Evelyn said at the time.
We’re really hoping that she wasn’t expecting the dating pool (pun intended) on MAFS to be an upgrade…
She can be heard in the teaser trailer lamenting that her new TV groom had “one job” in putting the ring on her finger.
Tayla Winter is set to bring even MORE drama to Married at First Sight 2023
Despite joining the Married at First Sight cast late in the game, Tayla Winter has already managed to start beefing with her co-star Lyndall Grace on Instagram.
In the teaser trailer, the Hobart-based nurse can be heard saying: “‘I promised myself I would give everything to this.”
According to Daily Mail Australia, Tayla will also start major drama with her own groom, Hugo Armstrong.
We don’t get to see much of the Jake Thomas doppelganger intruder groom in the latest teaser.
But the publication alleged that he’ll spark another scandal after he was overheard labelling Tayla a c**t on the phone.
Is it in the 2023 contestants’ contracts to use the mobile’s loudspeaker because this is getting ridiculous?!
