Alyssa Barmonde has fled to Hawaii after losing her job due to receiving a “villain edit” on Married at First Sight Australia 2023.

On May 8, the mother-of-one posted a photo on Instagram where she appeared to be getting ready for a night out with two of her friends.

The reality star made fun of herself in the caption, as she wrote: “Aloha #fledtohawaii #everyotherweekend.”

Where was this side of Alyssa on the show? She’s just gained another fan.

The 35-year-old shared another post captioned “breakfast”, as she sipped on a cocktail.

This comes after the former TV bride decided to go away after she was let go from her executive assistant role.

A source close to Alyssa revealed that she was “planning a holiday” to figure out her plan moving forward.

“She really just wants to move on and forget that she was ever on the show. It has been completely unfair.

“What we saw on television was not her,” the source told Daily Mail.

On April 17, Alyssa told The Daily Telegraph that she didn’t believe being made redundant just two weeks after the finale had aired was any coincidence.

Alyssa received a bad edit for mistreating her on-screen husband, Duncan James, and for using her child as an excuse for her bad behaviour.

Fans even called to have the bride removed from the show, saying she was worse than mega-villain Harrison Boon,

However, Alyssa claimed that she was unfairly portrayed on MAFS, stating that the 36-year-old also played a role in the demise of their relationship.

She also confessed that she went through a “really dark couple of months” when she saw where her edit was heading.

Since the show, Alyssa has been working on her mental health. According to reports by Confidential, she’s been seeing a therapist three times a week and has “upped” the dosage of her anxiety medication.
