Married at First Sight Australia 2023’s Alyssa Barmonde has revealed that she plans to leave Australia after losing her job due to her “villain” edit on the show.

The 35-year-old mother-of-one has decided to go away and “spend time with her family, reset and think about her next steps” after she was let go from her executive assistant role.

A source close to the former TV bride has revealed she is “planning a holiday”.

“She hasn’t been coping since MAFS started airing and she needs to take some time out to figure out her next steps,” an insider dished to So Dramatic!.

“She wants to put all of this behind her and forget she was ever on the show in the first place.

“It’s been so soul-destroying for her and what she’s been through is so unfair. The person we saw on TV was not the real Alyssa.”

Alyssa Barmonde loses her job following her ‘villain’ edit on MAFS

This comes after the mother-of-one lost the job she worked for seven years due to receiving a villain edit on MAFS.

On April 17, Alyssa told The Daily Telegraph that she didn’t believe being made redundant just two weeks after the Finale had aired was any coincidence.

Alyssa received a bad edit for mistreating her on-screen husband Duncan James and for using her child as an excuse for her bad behaviour. Fans even called to have the bride removed from the show, saying she was worse than mega-villain Harrison Boon,

However, Alyssa claimed that she was unfairly portrayed on MAFS, stating that the 36-year-old also played a role in the demise of their relationship.

She also confessed that she went through a “really dark couple of months” when she saw where her edit was heading.

Since the show, Alyssa has been working on her mental health. According to reports by Confidential, she’s been seeing a therapist three times a week and has “upped” the dosage of her anxiety medication.
