Married At First Sight Australia 2023’s Dan Hunjas allegedly had four secret girlfriends during filming whilst he was married to Sandy Jawanda.
As revealed in episode 262 and episode 263 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the 42-year-old businessman was allegedly seeing all four women right up until he went on the show and continued dating a number of them during and after filming.
It kinda makes Harrison Boon not look so bad for having just one secret girlfriend during filming…
Girlfriend #1: Danni
So Dramatic! can reveal that Dan was allegedly dating a woman named Danni before going into the experiment, during filming and once he’d left the show.
The couple had been together since 2021 and Danni had only just moved from Brisbane to the Gold Coast for the father-of-one before he left for filming.
A source close to the couple explained that they briefly split in 2021 after Dan was unfaithful (with a woman named Tallara – more on her later) but reconnected again in April 2022.
According to a source, they continued dating until late January 2023, even whilst Dan filmed MAFS (from August through to December 2022).
Dan only told his girlfriend Danni he was going on Married at First Sight one day before filming
According to insiders, Dan only told Danni he was going on the show one day before he left to get married on national TV. He convinced her that he was doing it for “publicity” and to “be a better version of himself” for her.
“He told her he was doing the show but he didn’t want to break up with her because he needed her in his life,” the source dished.
They added: “He asked her to let him do it and if she would wait for him until it finished.
“He told her he was going on the show to ‘better himself’ so he could ‘serve their relationship better’ and get him to where he wanted to be in life.”
The source went on to explain that Dan hoped the experts “could teach him something” so that he could “show up better” in his relationship with Danni.
“Danni thought he genuinely loved her,” they dished. “She had no idea how badly she was being played. He pulled the wool over her eyes big time”.
Dan and his secret girlfriend Danni spoke “every day” during Married at First Sight
According to our source, Dan and Danni continued their secret relationship during filming and kept in touch every day.
“Dan was calling and messaging Danni the whole time during filming,” the source continued. “He spoke to her pretty much every day whilst in the experiment.”
According to the insider, Dan even said he was “counting down the days until they’re reunited” and telling her everything about his MAFS journey.
“He was telling her everything that’s happening and that he misses her, he loves her, and he can’t wait to come back home and be reunited with her,” they said.
Dan also used his outside girlfriend as a ‘sounding board’ to vent about his issues with Sandy and messaged her the day he left the show.
“He was using Danni to vent about the show and would call her to b*tch about Sandy and what was going on between them,” the insider recalled.
“Dan told her he didn’t like Sandy because she is Indian. He said he got ‘stitched up‘ being paired with her.”
Dan flew Danni and their daughters to Sydney the day after he finished filming Married at First Sight
The day that Dan finished filming in early October, he flew Danni and their daughters to Sydney to see him. The foursome attended the Bruno Mars concert and “had a beautiful time together.”
After a few days, their daughters flew back home and Dan and Danni spent the rest of the weekend together in Sydney and after that, picked up from where they’d left off.
Dan even shared photos from the concert on Instagram, thanking Danni for “hooking us up with some epic seats.”
According to our insider, when his castmates got wind of their relationship and family outing during filming, he told them they were just “mates.”
Dan cheated on Danni with wedding guest-turned-girlfriend Samantha Symes
Dan and Danni continued dating until mid-January when she found out he’d cheated on her with his wedding guest-turned-girlfriend Samantha Symes – who was also her friend.
Samantha and Dan had been sleeping together in the lead-up to his appearance on MAFS and he was also in contact with her during filming.
“Before MAFS, when Dan was with Danni, he even had the audacity to have Samantha stay over at his house,” the insider said.
“He told Danni that they were just friends and had been friends for ages and she needed a place to crash at.
“But she later found out that they had only met a few weeks prior to that and that they were in fact sleeping together.”
In January, one of Dan’s mates confirmed to Danni that he’d been cheating on her with Samantha and that’s when she called things off with him.
Two days after she ended things, he introduced Samantha to his daughter Keely and told her “she’s The One.”
Girlfriend #2: Samantha Symes
ICYMI: Samantha and Danni debuted their romance just hours after fans fell in love with Dan and Sandy during their TV debut in a series of leaked paparazzi photos.
While many were shocked to learn that Dan had started dating one of his wedding guests, turns out she was still dating him when she attended his wedding to Sandy.
“Sam was also seeing him before MAFS and she was only happy for him to go on the show if she was included because she’s also fame-hungry,” the source explained.
“That’s why she was at the wedding. She asked to be there because she wanted her five seconds of fame and that’s why she wore such a revealing dress.”
What’s even more shocking is that producers were reportedly aware of Dan and Samantha’s existing relationship at the time.
“A producer that I’m friends with told me that Sam was given a microphone on the day because they already knew about Dan and Sam hooking up and they anticipated it would be drama later on,” the said.
“They hoped it would come out during filming and be some sort of cheating scandal so they got footage of her just in case.
“They had no idea he also had another secret girlfriend back home too.”
Dan and Samantha were talking “all throughout MAFS” and are believed to still be dating at the time of publication.
Dan had other ex-girlfriends at his wedding to Sandy
According to our insiders, Dan also had other ex-girlfriends attend his TV wedding to Sandy.
Georgia, who also appeared at ‘family and friend’s visit’ used to “date” and “hook up” with Dan, according to multiple sources.
“Georgia, the girl who came to visit him during family and friends visits, is another ex of his. They used to date and they also lived together,” one insider revealed.
“In fact, most of the girls at the wedding he’s hooked up with before. I don’t know any woman he’s friends with that he hasn’t hooked up with besides Katie.”
Girlfriend #3: Tallara
The controversy doesn’t end there as the MAFS star has been linked to a third woman named Tallara who he was also in contact with during filming.
“Dan was speaking to Tallara right up until he went on MAFS. Then he suddenly told her he was going to be unavailable for a while as he was filming a show,” the insider reveals, adding, “he didn’t tell her which show he was going on.”
“He FaceTimed her the day before he left for filming to say goodbye and said he won’t be able to talk to her as much as he’ll be busy. But said he wants to continue things with her when he finishes filming.”
Messages obtained by So Dramatic! show Dan messaging his third secret girlfriend Tallara during his honeymoon, telling her details about filming.
Girlfriend #4: Paris
Not only was Dan dating Danni, Samantha and Tallara before and during MAFS, he was also allegedly seeing a fourth woman named Paris Lily. We guess he wasn’t lying when he said he was in “beast mode”!
Sources reveal that Dan was regularly spending time with the Sydney-based beauty during filming.
“Dan would spend time with Paris when he was hiding from Sandy. He was not at the gym like he claimed, he was with his Paris,” the insider dished.
“He spent most days with her during filming. They would go to the beach, grab coffee or lunch or hang out at her place together.”
Dan hasn’t gone to great lengths to keep his relationship with Paris a secret either, leaving a number of flirty comments on her Instagram during the months of filming.
Paris is also followed by a number of MAFS grooms including Cameron Woods and Adam Seed so it appears Dan may have introduced her to his mates during filming as well.
In fact, sources claim Paris “partied” with Dan and some cast members after they filmed the Reunion.
Sandy found out about Dan’s secret girlfriends and confronted him at the Reunion
According to our insiders, Sandy found out about Dan’s secret girlfriends and confronted him about it during the Reunion.
“After filming, Sandy was bombarding him with texts saying that she knows he was with Paris intimately during filming,” they explained.
“At the Reunion dinner, Sandy confronts him and he gets called out by everyone.
“Sandy and Dan were at each other big time, it’s a huge drama at the Reunion.”
Sandy also reached out to Danni after filming the Reunion.
“After the show ended, Sandy got tipped off about Danni and got in contact with her,” they explained. “She called her asking for answers and closure and vented to her about everything.
“Danni apologised for everything that she went through on the show and her part in it.”
Honestly, between six-hour runs, filming a TV show and being a father and businessman, where does the man find the time?
What has Dan said about the claims?
When approached for comment, Dan told So Dramatic! that the claims are false.
“There’s no doubt I expressed myself in ways I regret on the show. But at no point was I romantically involved with anyone else, nor did I cheat on anyone.”
