The 2022 TV WEEK Logie nominations are in and now, a number of fan-favourite reality shows are hoping to take home a gong on Australian TV’s night of nights.
The long-running awards night will hold its 62nd ceremony on the Gold Coast on Sunday, June 19 after a two-year hiatus.
A bunch of beloved TV personalities are up for individual gongs (if Tony Armstrong doesn’t win, we riot), but which shows will be victorious?
Keep scrolling to see which reality series we think should win a 2022 TV WEEK Logie Award, on a scale of “hook it to my veins” to “this dumpster fire should’ve been axed years ago”…
1. Beauty and the Geek
Beauty and the Geek warmed our dead, cold hearts when it returned to TV after a six-year hiatus. It was hilarious and wholesome and, it introduced us to Lachy Mansell and his star jumps.
If that’s not enough of a reason to take out a top gong, we don’t know what is…
2. The Masked Singer Australia
Sure, The Masked SInger Australia is hectic AF, if not a little outlandish with the judges‘ suggestions for who is under the mask.
However, you can’t deny it’s a whole lotta fun for the whole fam — and it doesn’t rely on barbaric cheating scandals to rake in ratings!
3. MasterChef Australia
Since introducing a fresh panel of judges in its 2020 shakeup, MasterChef Australia has continued to dish up some of the best TV entertainment Australia has to offer.
Couple this with the outstanding home cooks putting their hearts and meals on the line, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a Gold Logie.
4. Lego Masters Australia
There’s no chance a show could be unlikable when Hamish Blake is involved, and Lego Masters Australia is no exception.
The hit show has something for everyone, whether you’re a Lego fanatic or just watching to figure out how TF someone can turn a song title into a 3D moving mechanism.
5. SAS Australia
We’re a glutton for punishment, just like the host of well-known personalities who sign on to get their a*ses handed to them on SAS Australia.
While we can’t deny some of the casting choices are a little *questionable*, we do love watching the stars fight tooth and nail to pass selection.
6. The Voice Australia
Since Channel 7 got its hands on The Voice Australia, the ratings juggernaut has continued to hit the right notes among fans. Plus, UK coach Rita Ora‘s charm is just one of the reasons we keep coming back for more.
7. The Block: Fans Vs Faves
Sure, they might’ve done more arguing than renovating on The Block: Fans Vs Faves, but boy, did it have all of Australia glued to their seats.
If anything, “fan” contestant Tanya Guccione should get a Logie for her role in “TV’s biggest ever cheating scandal”…
8. I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here Australia
What’s there left to say about I’m A Celebrity aside from “Get Me Out of watching this show ever again”?
Perhaps it should take a leaf out of its competitors’ books and introduce a shakeup to the jungle-bound series. Oh, and maybe some real celebrities…
9. Celebrity Apprentice Australia
We can’t deny that Lord Alan Sugar brings a little je ne sais quoi to the reborn Celebrity Apprentice Australia, but TBH, we’re still devo that we’re no longer watching former CEO (and boardroom daddy) Mark Bouris three nights a week.
10. Married at First Sight Australia
Just when we thought this dumpster fire couldn’t get any more tragic, Married at First Sight Australia kicks it up a notch (or 10).
Despite bids for it to be axed from the reality show line-up, it keeps rising from the ashes — and this time, with a celebrity edition on the horizon…
Which TV Personalities Are Up for Logies This Year?
Naturally, our boy Hamish is up for a Gold Logie as Most Popular Personality on Australian Television for his work on Lego Masters.
I’m a Celeb mainstay Julia Morris is also up for the same award, as is MasterChef‘s Queen of the Kitchen, Melissa Leong.
Channel Seven’s Sonia Kruger is making herself known in the race, having been nominated for Most Popular Personality thanks to her hosting gigs on FIVE of the network’s popular series.
Live voting for each of the Most Popular awards (including the Gold Logie) is currently open and will continue across the next five weeks right up until the the red carpet wraps up on awards night.
