The Block is returning to our screens for 2024, and we’ve uncovered everything you need to know about the dramatic new season.
From contestants quitting at the eleventh hour to villains who are said to be more “divisive” than Kristy and Brett Beames, the upcoming season of the hit renovation show is set to be SPICY AF!
Long-time hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft have even called the 20th rendition of the show the “greatest” season yet.
But what else do we know about The Block 2024?
Where is The Block 2024 filmed?
In a huge shakeup, this year’s Blockheads will renovate the Island Cove Villas complex, a holiday park in Cowes, Phillip Island, just two and a half hours out of Melbourne.
The resort, located at 113-119 Justice Road, comprises nine units, including one two-storey, five-bedroom property, six two-bedroom units and two three-bedroom houses.
The gorgeous property also boasts a palm-fringed pool, a tennis court, two BBQ pavilions, two pool gazebos, a large commercial laundry and a children’s playground.
In its listing, Island Cove Villas is described as “breathtaking from the moment you arrive”. It’s also a 2.4-kilometre drive from the infamous Phillip Island penguin parade.
Who will judge The Block 2024?
Long-time judges Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer will be back to put this year’s Blockheads through their paces.
Sadly, Neale Whitaker, who’s been judging the show since 2011, revealed he’d be leaving “for good” to care for his partner David, who’s been “dealing with some serious health issues.”
However, his judging duties have been handed over to real estate guru Marty Fox, who joined the show in 2023.
Who will be competing on The Block 2024?
This year, five new teams will be taking on the renovation show
Events account director and furniture designer Courtney, 32, and landscape business development manager Grant, 29, will make up the Red Team.
Meanwhile, plumber Ricky, 34, and IT worker Hayden, 37, will make up the Yellow Team.
Hairdresser and business owner Kylie, 37, and electrician and plumber Brad, 32, are on the Green Team, whilst carpenter Jesse, 29, and claims specialist Paige, 27, will represent the Blue Team.
Last but not least, electrician Kristian, 31, and restaurant manager Mimi, 28, will make up Team Purple.
All the DRAMA set to rock The Block 2024
Despite fans calling for less drama and more renovating, this season is expected to be chaotic AF!
Per Yahoo! Lifestyle, Jesse and Paige QUIT the show a few weeks into filming, and sh*t hit the fan when they were replaced with Maddie and Charlotte
“The look and feel of House One, up until week six, was a fairly bland seaside escape concept — a Hamptons aesthetic,” the insider said.
However, the women preferred a grand Colonial theme, which they “didn’t want to back down on”.
“Maddie and Charlotte are hoping they will be allowed to re-do the rooms that now look out of place, but a decision on how that might happen is still unconfirmed,” the source continued.
“No one has been able to confirm what the hell is going to happen with these two themes clashing, and in all honesty, something will need to be done if this house has a hope in hell of winning.”
In addition to all the drama, Foreman Keith Schleiger, who has been a full-time star on the series since 2011, will only be making “irregular appearances” in the upcoming season.
Former The Block stars are returning to the show in 2024
Nine revealed that 22 former The Block stars will return to the show to “lend a helping hand for the monster build”.

When does The Block 2024 start?
While the official start date is yet to be announced, the new season of The Block will be gracing our screens after the Olympics in August.
