Channel Nine is taking extreme measures to keep The Block 2024 under wraps as production begins on Phillip Island.

In September, it was reported that the renovation series would relocate from Melbourne suburbia to the Victorian holiday destination after plans to shoot in Daylesford were canned.

Realestatesource.com.au said that a Channel Nine-owned company had purchased the Island Cove Villas complex in Cowes for a speculated $9.58 million.

The resort property features nine holiday homes, a shared pool, a tennis court and a playground.

However, it seems we’ll have to wait until the milestone 20th season hits the small screen to see the epic renovations.

It turns out that Nine has installed a HUGE fence around the perimeter of the Phillip Island complex to prevent nosy fans from sussing what’s going on within.

“Fencing going up on The Block 2024 Phillip Island,” one viewer shared alongside a photo in a fan group on Facebook.

“Looks like it might be very much under wraps this year.”

What else do we know about The Block 2024?

As production begins prepping the site for its future contestants, casting is still underway for the new Blockheads.

However, the new season will potentially feature some fan-fave stars from past series.

“There is still some chatter about bringing back some celebrated contestants for the 20th season but applications are still open for newbies,” a source told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

“So the rumour is it will be half newbies and half returnees.”

If this is to go ahead, it will mark the fifth time The Block has featured past contestants following All-Stars in 2013, Fans v Faves in 2014, Triple Threat in 2015, and Fans v Faves in 2021.
