The Block 2023 hasn’t even aired yet, but the location for the 2024 season has already been leaked, much to fans’ dismay.

Back in May, it was reported that the brains behind the long-running renovation series had plans for another rural season, following the first of its kind in 2022.

According to the Herald Sun, the show’s creators had been “scoping out land” in and around Daylesford, in Victoria’s Hepburn Shire.

Now, its somewhat been confirmed by an in-the-know Instagram account called The Blockinator Blog.

The page — which has over 20,000 followers, including The Block judge Darren Palmer — shared the intel on July 26.

“INTRODUCING THE BLOCK 2024!” the caption read alongside a photo of Daylesford’s welcome sign.

“Next year The Block will head to Raglan Street, Daylesford where the teams will build from scratch 5 Pavillion style homes each on 1 acre of land.”

The page also shared a mock-up image of the “proposed design submitted to council by [The] Block architects”.

“Rumour has it that producers have some tricks up their sleeve to commemorate the 20th season.”

What are The Block fans saying about the new location?

Taking to the comment section, a number of vocal The Block fans expressed their hesitation over another rural season.

“I’m surprised they would do this country format again, it was a fail last time,” one confessed.

Another shot down the proposition of more “Colourbond shed-like homes”.

“Build homes sympathetic with gorgeous old towns’ period homes!” they begged.

A third user agreed: “Why can’t they build homes that are not essentially large sheds? There is no integrity in the architecture of these homes at all.”

One fan suggested The Block hire a new architect “because the style of extensions and new homes is getting really tired”.

“Daylesford is a town full to the brim of old historic cottages and that’s why people both live and stay there,” they added. “So I hope to see something of a similar nature because they really missed that mark last year.”

Now, this is all hearsay at this point.

A Channel Nine representative refuted the Herald Sun‘s speculation in May, telling the publication that they “don’t speculate on the location of future series of The Block“.
