The Block 2023 hasn’t even hit the small screen yet, but the creators are reportedly already eyeing another rural location for the 2024 season.
ICYMI: The Block 2022, dubbed Tree Change, was the first-ever season of the hit renovation show to be set in regional Victoria.
And while the success of that series is questionable (only a fraction of the houses sold at auction), The Block is poised for another stint in bumf*ck nowhere.
According to the Herald Sun, the show’s creators have been “scoping out land” in and around Daylesford, in Victoria’s Hepburn Shire.
Just under an hour and a half from Melbourne, the “lifestyle haven” will reportedly feature five The Block homes on 3/4 acre blocks.
Channel Nine has not confirmed the rumours, telling the publication that they “don’t speculate on the location of future series of The Block“.
Despite this, the Herald Sun claims the series will start production earlier than past iterations, with filming slated to kick off in February 2024.
The Block judging panel is getting a shakeup
The publication also previously revealed that The Block‘s judging panel will get a shakeup this year, with WHITEFOX Real Estate’s CEO Marty Fox joining the gang.
It comes after the 34-year-old was spotted outside The Block 2023‘s properties on Hampton East’s Charming Street alongside judges Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer.
If that isn’t a sign that he’s joined the show, then we don’t know what is!
Rest assured that Neale Whitaker is still on the judging bill, too.
So, who knows — perhaps Marty will be the long-awaited fourth judge, or just a guest during a challenge.
The Block 2023 will also see the return of host Scott Cam, and his right-hand woman, Shelley Craft.
