Channel Nine has addressed speculation that The Block‘s longtime host, Scott Cam, is leaving the beloved reno show.
Just days ahead of the 19th season’s August 6 premiere, an insider told Yahoo! Lifestyle that Scott wasn’t renewing his contract.
“We want to celebrate while we have Scotty on contract and that may very well mean getting our skates on now,” the source said.
Another claimed a reunion special would air ahead of The Block Season 20, “featuring the most iconic teams from the past”.
Yahoo! alleged the reunion had already been set in motion, with a number of stars already agreeing to the special.
“We are looking at the contestants that made the most amount of noise and those who are still remembered all these years later,” the insider added.
Scott’s replacement was also said to be a “familiar face” to fans. (Jamie Durie, you free?)
However, don’t get too excited (or upset)! The Block‘s publicist has debunked any and all resignation rumours.
“The report is not true,” they told news.com.au.

And that’s saying something!
Yahoo! Lifestyle recently dished that there’s set to be LOTS of inter-team conflicts, with one source describing the season as “Melrose Place on steroids”.
“The new season is said to be a real change of pace from previous ones, with many of the teams reportedly coming to loggerheads this year,” a source dished.
“The drama will be relatable but may surprise viewers, given it’s like nothing we’ve seen before.”
Adding: “Fans. are likely to switch allegiance between the teams throughout the season as the drama unfolds.”
However, despite all the tension, The Block 2023 still maintains its heart, and we’ve also heard that the finished houses are to die for!
