Another beloved star has revealed they’re leaving The Block for good, and fans are saying the show “won’t ever be the same”.
On May 6, the Herald Sun reported that Foreman Keith Schleiger, who’d graced the hit renovation show since 2011, would be taking a “step back” from the series.
And he’s not the only one… On May 8, long-time judge Neale Whitaker sadly revealed in a lengthy Instagram statement that he’d no longer be starring on the show after 17 seasons.
“In 2023 – as many of you will know – I took a break from The Block to spend more time with my partner David, who was dealing with some serious health issues,” he wrote to the captions.
“We all hoped that by this year, I would be able to return full-time to the show, but life doesn’t always run to schedule.”
The former magazine editor explained that while David was getting stronger “with each passing month”, he felt it was best to “remain home as much as possible”.

The 62-year-old then revealed that he’d still appear in the upcoming season “from time to time”. However, he’d be passing over his judging duties to Marty Fox, who joined the show in 2023.
“It’s been such a privilege to be part of Australia’s most iconic TV show for an unbelievable 13 years – unbelievable to me, anyway,” he added.
The reality star then thanked his producers and co-stars, as well as the production crew and contestants, for all of the memories.
“Thank you to Nine for having me on its flagship show for so long. Congratulations and good luck to this year’s Blockheads on their Phillip Island journey,” he finished.

Neale’s fans and co-stars took to the comments section to share their love for him and David.
“How can you thank someone for all their talent, intelligence & class who has been an integral part of your life on the screen? You can’t,” fellow judge Shaynna Blaze penned.
“But I do know The Three Amigos live on outside of the screen, always. Huge love to you, Neale, and to David too – Miss you xxxx.”
Meanwhile, The Block 2021‘s Tanya Guccione wrote: “You’re a true gentleman. Your insight was always appreciated, and we applaud you for always putting love, family and health first.”
“Love you mate… the show will not be the same again,” comedian Andy Saunders added.
Fans also applauded Neale for being a “class act”, with many saying he will be “missed”.
