The Block 2024 insiders say this year’s couples may BREAK UP before the auctions due to “polarising” on-screen behaviour this season.
Despite fans calling for less drama and more renovating, it sounds like the 20th season of the hit renovation show will be more like Married at First Sight with hammers.
Per Daily Mail, one insider has speculated that the couples on the show may not even last until auction day.
“We don’t always know how others see our relationships, and this season, I think at least three out of the five new teams will be quite horrified at their behaviour,” they dished.
“A lot of their behaviour is quite polarising. I wouldn’t be surprised if not all the couples make it to the auction without splitting.” Yikes!
According to the insider, the reality show tested the cast’s relationships with their teammates.
They said, “The conflict is contained within each house this season and not with their competing neighbours.”
Insiders reckon The Block 2024‘s Kylie and Brad will feel ‘uncomfortable’ watching the show back
The insider added that the fights between the couples were “a tad cringe” and “immature”, stating that married couple Kylie and Brad were the worst of the bunch.
“Kylie and Brad are going to find watching the show back quite uncomfortable as they have a unique way of speaking to each other,” they recalled.
“Producers pull back and let contestants behave as they choose. However, when the couple asked if they’d face backlash, they were told they’ll be the most relatable team of the season because they weren’t censoring themselves.”
And we can’t wait to watch their storyline play out!
The Block 2024 is set to be DRAMA-filled despite past viewer complaints
Despite viewers complaining to ACMA about bullying between teams in 2023, The Block will maintain its drama-filled approach.
“The Block will always have conflict,” the insider told Daily Mail. “Watching the different ways each contestant deals with the drama has kept this show on television for 20 years.”
The source said viewers will see the “dirt under the fingernails” when watching the “dynamics” unfold between the 2024 cast.
“It’s fly-on-the-wall television at its best watching the latest bunch navigate the trials and tribulations of building a house over 12 weeks,” they continued.
“Like MAFS, the tension between each couple is compelling, and it’s most engaging when the couples are at odds with each other.” Exciting stuff!
