It’s been revealed that the Married at First Sight Australia 2024 cast aren’t the only reality stars left off the Logies invite list this year.
As reported in episode 402 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Channel Nine “decided not to invite any of the MAFS cast” to TV’s night of nights.
While last year’s red carpet drama from the 2023 participants contributed to the decision, sources also claimed staffing issues at the network made it unfeasible to invite MAFS personalities this year.
Now, as revealed in episode 404 of the So Dramatic! podcast, another insider has come forward to spill more tea about Nine’s Logies course of action.
According to the source, “It’s not just the MAFS cast who didn’t score an invite to the Logies”.
“It’s across the whole network and applies to most of the Nine shows,” they explained. “So The Block and Lego Masters cast members have also not been invited this year as they usually are.”
Why are Channel Nine reality stars not receiving invitations to the 2024 Logies?
The reality stars were reportedly told that invitations offered to Channel Nine talent “is extremely limited,” given that the awards show is a Channel Seven event.
“But I don’t think that’s the case,” the insider speculated. “They don’t have enough staff to organise it or the money to hire additional publicists for the event, so no shows are going this year.
“They will only have key talent there like the relationship experts to represent MAFS, Scott Cam and Shelley Craft to represent The Block, Hamish Blake to represent Lego Masters, and Sophie Monk to represent Love Island, etc.”
The Block cast is reportedly ‘sh*tty’ they didn’t cop Logies invites
One contestant from The Block dished to So Dramatic! podcast host that “the cast are really sh*tty” about their Logies snubs.
“They were promised they would be going and now they have essentially been uninvited,” they revealed.
They added that this is the first year (outside of COVID) that The Block contestants haven’t attended the TV Week Logie Awards.
“Everyone played along with Nine’s rules and didn’t go rogue and break contracts for the sole reason they wanted to attend the Logies, so we’re all really disappointed,” they admitted.
“They basically led us on to keep us all in check for the past year.” Damn!
The Logies will air on Channel Seven on August 18.
