The Bachelors Austalia 2023 officially debuted its worst premiere ratings in history when it kicked off its new revamped season on January 9.

Despite featuring three Bachelors and a literal boner in the first episode, the show’s tenth season saw its lowest-ever ratings in the franchise’s history, with an average of 309,000 metro viewers.
So tragic were the ratings for the show, that they were beaten by a repeat of Hard Quiz Kids Special on ABC. Ouch!

It’s a pretty worrying number when looking back on the ratings for previous premiere episodes of the long-running series.
For comparison, last season’s debut of The Bachelor starring Jimmy Nicholson pulled 482,000 metro viewers.
The Locky Gilbert-lead premiere a year prior to that saw a healthier 681,000 tune-in to watch.

Meanwhile, Matt Agnew’s 2019 season kicked off with a far more impressive 828,000 metro viewers.
The Bachelors 2023 even managed to score WORSE than the widely-panned season premiere of The Bachelorette Australia 2021.
The season, featuring Brooke Blurton as the country’s first bisexual Bachelorette, only raked in 397,000 viewers upon its debut.

Network 10 faces major programming woes after new reality shows tank
It’s just the latest in a slew of bad choices for Network 10 when it comes to programming woes.
The network was forced to shift The Challenge Australia to a later timeslot on 10 Shake in December over a lack of interest.
Meanwhile, new reality shows The Real Love Boat and The Traitors also struggled to lure viewers upon their debut, while 10 News First Breakfast was axed altogether after shocking ratings.

Given that The Bachelors has been overhauled whole a whole bunch of changes this season, we’ll be sticking it out in the hopes of witnessing some ~spicy~ drama.
After all, this season is set to be wilder than ever, with chaotic contestants, polyamory, partner-swapping, swinging, and even another OnlyFans scandal all among the major storylines of the season.
