Abbie Chatfield has admitted to regularly taking sleeping pills on the set of The Bachelor Australia 2019 as a way to cope with being “bullied” by her castmates.

The 27-year-old breakout star has never shied away from her negative experience with her co-stars, previously explaining that she was mistreated in the mansion.

Now, in the January 5 episode of her podcast, It’s a Lot, Abbie revealed how she managed to avoid her fellow suitors while filming.

“I would take sleeping pills to sleep all day, it was really bad,” she said.

According to Abbie, The Bachelor lead Matt Agnew quickly “figured out what was going on” and “protected her”.

“He’s very smart,” she said of the astrophysicist. “I think that’s why he didn’t listen to anything they said, he was like ‘I can see you guys bullying her’.”

The newly-appointed FBOY Island Australia host also said she’s “really good friends” with Matt nowadays, despite him dumping her in the finale for Chelsie McLeod.

Abbie also claimed to be the “only one [of the cast] that’s still friends” with him.

How did Abbie Chatfield’s The Bachelor co-stars “bully” her?

During the podcast, Abbie recalled being called a “c*nt” and a “b*tch” to her face by her co-stars.

“One of them said ‘every action has a reaction’ as they were all gathered around calling me a c*nt,” she said. “It was full-on.”

According to The Masked Singer Australia panellist, the bullying got so intense that a makeup artist had to intervene.

“It was really cooked. It was really f*cked up… At one point the makeup artist gathered the girls in the room and said, ‘stop bullying her’.”

Abbie can’t pinpoint the exact reason the cast turned on her. However, she said the girls were off her after telling Matt that Monique Morely called him a “dog c*nt”. #NeverForget.

“They were all very mad about it because they hated the dobbing, but I’m a dobber, I love dobbing,” she confessed. “I’m a f*cking dobber, don’t do it then. I don’t know you c*nts.”

“I’ve been with you guys for two and a half weeks and one of you is calling this guy a C-word. I’m gonna tell him, like babes you did it. Sorry about it, but now I’m on Masked Singer, so I guess I know what makes good TV.”

Go. Off.

Abbie Chatfield’s co-stars hit back at claims

After Abbie’s claims that bullying led her to take sleeping pills while filming, several of her co-stars hit back.

Commenting on underneath So Dramatic!‘s post about the experience, Nichole Wood joked that she “must [have] been living in a different house”.

“I don’t remember this ever happening,” she penned. “Must of [sic] been when I took one of my walks in the yard.”

Similarly, another of Abbie’s castmates slid into the DMs, stating they “knew nothing of sleeping pills”.

“And can guarantee she wasn’t bullied, from my perspective,” they continued. However, they acknowledged that “maybe [they weren’t] there when it happened”.
