The Bachelors Australia 2023 start date has been the latest change in a string of unsettling moves made by Channel 10 to the franchise.
While the series has already seen a MAJOR overhaul with the addition of THREE leading men (including Felix von Hofe, Jed McIntosh and Thomas Maluchelli), we’ve also already seen the premiere date change TWICE before.
Like seasons past, the new iteration was supposed to begin around October 2022. However, after The Real Love Boat took their time slot, we were left thinking “WTAF”?!
Then at the Channel 10 Upfronts, a new time was set for January 2, 2023.
On November 1, a third and final change saw the start date moved back a whole week to January 9, 2023 — and frankly, if we see this show at all, it will be a goddamn miracle!!
The Bachelors Contestants are Fuming Over the Delays
On September 20, Daily Mail reported that Channel 10 had decided to delay the show until early 2023 so they could focus on promoting their other sinking ship new flagship show, leaving the suitors and contestants in limbo.
At the time, one new Bachelor contestant told So Dramatic! that following the shock decision, they were NOT happy, Jan.
“No one is happy about it,” they said. “We’ve been dragged on for so long already. It’s been a huge disruption to all of our lives which have been put on hold for months now.”
Our source also said that they suspect the show had been put on hold due to delays in editing.
“As far as I heard last, they were still editing the show, and it was taking longer than expected for some unknown reason,” they revealed. And we must know what drama caused a production delay this long?! Hook it to our veins now!
Cast members were also required to keep their accounts private and are not allowed to accept any new followers (this includes their co-stars and new Hinge matches), thanks to that new sneaky social media *bonus*.
