The Block Australia 2022 contestants may have suffered through one of the show’s biggest “flop” auctions, but the network — Channel Nine — raked in huge profit earnings on auction day.

The TV mainstay made an estimated $19 million in profit, despite just three of the five Gisborne houses selling during the November 6 finale.

According to The Australian, producers paid $11 million for 28 hectares of land in 2021, suggesting the network will make an additional $11 million once Houses Three and Four are (finally) sold.

This also means that Nine’s total profit will climb up to a staggering $30 million!

How Much Did The Block 2022 Contestants Earn?

A large proportion of Nine’s success came from Omar Slaimankhel and Osman “Oz” Malik’s record-breaking sale of $5,666,666.66, thanks to the VERY deep pockets of Danny Wallis.

Yep, that 0.66 cents really made the difference, cheers mate…

The Western Sydney besties took $1,586,666.66 ($793K each) home to their families, not including the whopping $100,000 in prize money!

Tom Calleja and Sarah-Jane Wilson‘s plaid-clad house was also bought by Danny for $4,100,000.99.

They also set a record, but in the wrong direction. Tom and Sarah-Jane walked away with just $20,000.99 profit, a new low for The Block auctions.

House Two also went to Danny after the auction ended for $4,249,999.85, which gave them a profit of $169,000.85.

Not bad at all!
